this is BS though.. why is their a need for a new crappy voiceplan.....my old voiceplan is fine and is compatible with EVERY PHONE and there's no reason it shouldn't work on the iphone.... i'd be happier with a standard (mandatory) add-on data plan.. but i guess they did the their homework and decided this would get the most rapage...lol stupid rogers...
unlocked, hacked and jailbroken can't wait.. the gray market MUST continue to thrive...

therefore, you pay $299+35 to act + 400 to cancel..
I am an apple fanboy...and I will not be buying the iphone 3g! The plans are a ****ing joke!! The plans dont even include caller ID!! Rogers is a money grabbin' crack whore!
I hope no one buys the iphone in Canada to show Rogers that we won't tolerate unfair data pricing! I feel like they just rip me a new one!!!

In all fairness, i.Fido said that those were the preliminary plans, he never said they could not change.
People must realize that with 3G, you will want to use a lot more data, so 1GB is in my opinion a minimum data amount that people will need.....but to get that with a crappy voice plan you will have to shell out $100 or whatever it is, so your looking at $125 after saf and taxes. Seeing those plans makes me feel dirty.

What if I need more voice but the lowest data? I could easily get by on 400mb data, but 150 voice minutes? That would last me a week!
Is there a way to add more minutes without adding more data? I gave up my 500min + free EW starting at 6 +500 text for $40 retention plan. None of these iphone plans are any use to me at the price they are at
Well, I guess no UL data plan for the Iphone. 400mb is not very much, and Rogers did end up getting the best of Apple. It was silly to think that Ted would actually give in to Apple. It's not their way of doing things. 400mb/month isn't terrible, but compared to everyone else it is horrible.

What's the point of him lying? He can't be stupid to think that people would forget about it (the $30 plan he posted) if significantly different plans were released (like the ones today). Everyone jumped on it too becasue they wanted to believe it.
Who knows, maybe Rogers released plans internally to try and weed out potential leaks...?
Besides, I think 750MB+ is more than enough for most people, even with 3G. I frequently used data on my Gen1 iPhone (auto email checks every 30 minutes for 2 accts, internet, Google Maps, applications) and didn't once go over 300MB in a month. Yes 3G is much faster and the average data usage will go up, but 750MB is still a lot for the general used. I think the lower plan might be cutting it close, except for light users.
As for the Hotspot unlimited access - it is tied to your phone number, so I guess they just waive charges when you login. That also means that if you use your cell phone number and password on a laptop, it'd be free too...

as usual the plans will suit the mass market who does not live by the internet on their phone just fine. the people who are dying for the iphone will get it regardless.
If they were a bit lower I might have though about getting one, but I think i'll pass.
