If Rogers decides not to change these plans before July 11th, I will be very glad that I stuck with my 1st gen iphone. Plus now that they added the $30 300mb plan they cant take it off....sucka's!!!!!!!

I don't know about Toronto, but EDGE in Ottawa blows. It's sad that I had to disable auto email checking when using Google Maps or Safari... otherwise things would time out... 3G all the way!
Sure wishing I didn't sell my 8gb unlocked on June 10th...
I'll be getting the phone... since I can't stand using this crappy blackberry after owning a 1st gen iPhone for 9 months, but the next time there's a contract renewal and there's a new player on the market I'm switching... I hate Rogers.
lolz, I knew the reaction up here would be priceless!
as usual the plans will suit the mass market who does not live by the internet on their phone just fine. the people who are dying for the iphone will get it regardless.
If they were a bit lower I might have though about getting one, but I think i'll pass.
But how many people will be willing to give up their voice plans (which I'm assuming most people are happy with) for these BS plans. How can Rogers not have an add on data plan? Oh God.....I don't even want to think about this travesty and longer.
none of those voiceplans make any sense with the week nights starting at.. 9 PM (WTH !!!)... gotta pay an extra 20 $ (!!!) to have caller ID, ul nights at 6 PM and useless features.... so.. technically, for the 750 mb plan to be functionnal I'd pay : 75 + 6.95 +.50 +20 + 15 $ tx = almost 120 $ a month !?!???!! with no UL incoming or nothing fancy.. and 300 minutes by day ?
Besides, I think 750MB+ is more than enough for most people, even with 3G. I frequently used data on my Gen1 iPhone (auto email checks every 30 minutes for 2 accts, internet, Google Maps, applications) and didn't once go over 300MB in a month. Yes 3G is much faster and the average data usage will go up, but 750MB is still a lot for the general used. I think the lower plan might be cutting it close, except for light users.
What about GPS though. Doesn't this use data, or is it like a TomTom? I thought the A-GPS uses data from cell towers as well as satellites to get a more accurate location of where you are.
let's not let this turn into a crucifixion of i.Fido
he was handed some info and was faced with a choice.. post or not post.

with the reaction of a few of you I believe the next time said decision presents itself, it will probably be made a hell of a lot easier.
agreed.....the dude tried to help us out.....I know the plans suck but he did say nothing is ever official until its officially announced.
I'm still hoping that this is a Rogers late April Fools day joke and they will be announcing the serious price plans before launch....somehow I don't think so though.

I agree with you.
I want to thank i.Fido for posting it. Everyone needs to get off i.Fido's back - he got false information, it's not his fault.
He also clearly stated that the plans weren't 100% confirmed...get off his back.
I don't think the data cap is the biggest problem for the mass (it certainly is for most of HoFo's users though, me inlcuded ! ) However, the totally crappy Voiceplans will certainly scare away most people. If you are a "mainstream average user who doesn't care that much large volume of data" well you will most likely still care about having a half decent voiceplan...
20 $ Valuepack LOL.. value hahahahah... value... they even dared to call that a "value" ?
