Most if not all Starbucks and Second Cups have them. And again - you could use your laptop with your phone number and password for unlimited access as well, I would assume.

    ROBBERS
    ROBBERS
i told you all, Robbers need to make up the loss of subsidizing the iPhone in 6 months period, thats why they are called Robbers

for 90% of us, it took us a long time to have a voice plan we want and are very happy with it, and now to get iPhone u need to get there new voice plan thing, this is stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, u get the point

and 400MB for $60 and 150 voice minutes ... hahah so pay $60 and use your phone once in a blue moon, they should just put a donation box in there stores and ask for money those Robbers

I normally used my G1 iPhone with EDGE in Barrhaven, Nepean and mostly downtown core. It was plain slow! The DSL Reports speed test for mobile devices usually yielded results in the 90-160kbps range.

From one of the answer that I got in this thread, it will probably work like N95 or K850 where you only get that lowest price if you subscribe to one of those plans. Otherwise, you'll end up paying much more.

But even then, say they charge you $300 for the Iphone without their new data plan (which Steve Jobs might not let them since he says the price will be $199 everywhere), it's only 100 dollar more. You got to keep your current plan. I paid 35 bucks all incl. every month and I'm saving more than 40 bucks a month (potentially more if I need the caller id for my iphone).

in 3 months you make up the difference, and for the rest of the 33 months, you are saving more than 1300 bucks. Again, this only works if you are content with WIFI only.

the bulk of the accounts I see are on 25-30$ mega time/my 5/family plans, add the 30$ 300 Mb data plan to it and you're at the same price, except this has a bit more minutes, text included, and 400 Mb of data. again not bad for john Q public. just crappy for john Q hofo

Well I get 150 daytime, 1000 eve/weekend/ UL incoming and 100 convertible long distance minutes for $30

Then $11 vm value pack and $15 Canada wide my5, as well as the $30 300mb plan.

That puts me at $105.60 fixed monthly cost.

I'm too sad to do the calculations right now, but I don't believe I could get that same value with the iPhone plans and the necessary add ons....not to mention I would use 3g data a lot more than edge.

A $30 mega incoming plan, plus the 30/300 data plan, I get the same daytime minutes, very close to the same data, same free e&w plus unlimited incoming! These iPhone plans blow.

    That's actually kind of nice.

To be honest, $30 for UL was too good to be true.
Where are the hotspots?? Is there a map showing where they are?

I'll definitely be holding onto my 1st gen iPhone until the iPhone Dev Team comes up with a jailbreak and unlock. Then I'll be able to pick up a 3G on Ebay and use it on the $30 DSP data plan with my $10 voice plan. No lining up on July 11 for me. AT&T's ECF is only $175, so even if it isn't officially possible to get a 3G without a plan, there will be ways.

I just hope I can add my $5 1000 min LD plan. if i can, ill make the switch. if not, peace to mateo iphone 3G. and to think my current iphone's wifi just stopped working....man o man what bad news on a friday morning.

EDIT: just spoke to a CSR. based on what he said, I doubt we can add our my5 canada wide, or anything else for that matter. He made it clear they do not allow additions to these voice plans, but gave me a ray of light in saying that the plans are still being reviewed...

Every potential way I look at how I will acquire a 3G phone involves me being screwed. I don't want to have to pay $700 for the device, and I dont want those crappy plans. I wish that Rogers would just offer data only add on plans, and even if they charge like a $250 decf or whatever, that would be better than the current situation. All rogers goodwill they earned with me for offering those new dsp's is now gone.

You know, I may be really old school here, but allow me this one rant. I really do not like that evenings have been pushed back to 9pm a few years back. I remember the good old days when evenings actually started at 6pm by default.

Isn't it called "nights and weekends" now? 9pm is hardly evening time.
