We all need to band together and send a generic email to Rogers stating how we feel....I wonder if I can write one up and create a site people can get togehter and follow my lead? Something needs to be done....
Here is one for you
Dear A-HOLES er Rogers
Thank you so much for announcing your iPhone plans today!! I was really looking forward to signing a 3 year contract with you. I have been doing month to month for about 4 years now and have been buying my own phones online because most of your phones are terrible branded little pieces of crap you insist on loading your crap on. I was fooled recently into believing that because you were going to get the iPhone you may be interested in giving customers a good user experience. Now I wont have to waist my time believing you are interested in anything other than getting copious amounts of cash for plans that basically cripple the user experience having to worry about data usage. I found it very cute that you added your unlimited wifi that somehow I have never seen before. So if I am in Rogers corporate head corders the web surfing is on you. Thanks!! I am so glad I have more options now to use other companies who have plans that don't bend you over quite as far. Now I can choose from more phones because I know that there is NO reason for me to want one of your phones because there is NO INCENTIVE at all to say with you.
F yourself and have a nice day
, Old time customer
It's good to see that my lack of faith in Rogers was rewarded.
Here are the biggest jokes of these "plans":
-evening calling at 9 PM! Are they for real?
-no caller ID included on a phone whose biggest feature is a 3.5" screen?
- iPhone Value Packs that tack on a bunch of garbage (who wants Caller Ring Trax™ anyway?) in order to justify the price of getting caller ID which should have been included in the first place and costs NOTHING to provide
-Additional Data: 50¢ per MB for the first 60 MB, I can't believe Rogers is going to risk ruining their iPhone positive press by people getting ridiculous overage bill
And of course the kicker...no unlimited data option.
I can't believe Apple agree to this.
On the bright side, my 2G iPhone just skyrocketed in value though I may decide to keep it now.
Yeah it's a joke. Our last hope is to expatriate or wait for the CDMA iphone! lol
They don't say anywhere that you MUST have an iPhone voice/data plan. Wouldn't it be possible to use the $30/300MB or $50 tiered plan with the iPhone and keep your current voice plan?
I'm certainly going to investigate this.
If those are the ONLY options, my 3G device will be the BBerry Bold for sure.
Just as an FYI some on this forum is complaining that they are getting usage charges on the $30/300MB using a non Rogers PDA. This plan might be configured only to support Rogers phones right now.
Not only do you have to pay extra for the SAF and call display.. then there's long distance. These plans will easily cost most people at least $90 IMO.. which is what Rogers stated the expected ARPU to be..
I imagine these plans are designed to take advantage of the initial people who are willing to pay almost anything to get them. I bet the prices drop in a few months.

im sure its an error. such as the data plan was applied for the next billing cycle, or applied to wrong phone on his account, etc... etc... its definitely for all phones and data usage.

1. I'm on Bell right now. I have a Blackberry and my spouse has a inexpensive 'mate' plan for her candybar type Nokia. We share minutes out of my bucket. How will non-iPhone 'mates' be paired with the iPhone in terms of plan (sharing mins, total cost, etc.)
2. What happens if I kill my iPhone? I know all iPhones must come with a plan. But if I bust mine up (I dropped a Berry down the stairs last year and killed it), what's the replacement cost?
