    No more Moto Q?

Anyone else notice that you can't seem to get the Motorola Q in any version/edition anymore from Sprint? What's up with that?

Thank god! My wife has been waiting to do the insurance thing on hers with the cracked screen. She dealt so many hours on the phone with Sprint and that piece of garbage. She finally gave up and stayed with the phone and now the screen is cracked so I told her to wait until they don't carry it anymore.

I was wondering the samething myself??? Stores seem to have some in stock still, but on-line gone, and CS gone.

I called a local store and she advised they went away because they like to switch up phgones every 6 months, yet no replacement was in the works.

In talking to CS chat on the website (that so nicely just pops in while your looking) advised that it might be due to updating the ROM's to WM 6.1???

So who is right and who is wrong???

I finally found a phone I can type with because of my sausage fingers and a UI that I like WITH a fixed keyboard!

Sprint I am not even a customer yet, and if this is the case, you are starting to already hork me off!

I liked the Q, still have one as a backup for my Q9c, which I really like.

Sprint doesn't have any phone in its lineup now with all the capablities of the Q9c excepting a couple of BBs, and I don't like BBs, both because of the browser and because they are nowhere near as easily configurable/moddable as WinMo phones are.

So it looks like I'll be on eBay looking for another Q9c if something happens to mine.

    1. Have you looked at the Samsung Ace? I don't know anything about it, but it's the only WinMo Smartphone device Sprint carries now, so you might want to check it out.

    2. There are still Q9cs on eBay, but not a lot of 'em.

    3. I have a Moto Q (original version, not Q9c) that I'm not using. It's an insurance replacement I got when I soaked my 1st Q and has never been activated. By the time it came I'd bought and activated Q9c and wasn't going to go back.

I'd be willing to part with it for a very reasonable price. :-)

I really believe that, if you like Windows Mobile (Smartphone, not Pro version), are willing to put up with its quirks, and want/need a full-QWERTY form factor, the Q9m/c/h are the best devices yet marketed.

I expect to hold on to my Q9c for a looooong time. Haven't even heard a rumor of anything that would cause me to part with it.

Someone else asked this question recently and another person mentioned the Ace. Search the more recent threads, but I remember someone saying the Ace had some features disabled which is why they didn't consider it.

And aren't the HTC phones WinMo phones? Plus, the Palm 700x is WinMo, altho the 800w is coming out July 13.

Hi everybody, my first post on Howard Forums...

I just bought 2 Sero plans on June 16th. I saw that the Q was free, so I got 2 of them. My order status immediately said that it was out of stock so I gave Sprint a call. The rep told me that the Q is EOL but that they would have more in stock to ship to me (I just have to wait...and wait...).

Well this sucks. I have been on the phone with Sprint for an hour... Now they are telling me that because it is EOL I will never get the phone and I have to select a different phone, but out of the ten people I have talked to no one can get my order set up. I just keep getting transfered. Meh.

Yes. Which sucks - I was really happy to be getting 2 free smartphones and SERO service, and today I had to pay for 2 phones. Well, I guess you win some, lose some...

Same here. Ordered a second and third one on SERO 500 for younger two kids after getting my oldest one a few weeks earlier when they were $29.99 after rebate (actualy got a $330 rebate check). At 8 and 9 years old they probably didn't smartphones, but hey, they were free. They put the order on hold because of the back order. I ordered the exact day they showed up for free. When I called to b***th. They offered me $50 each off of any other smatphones. I passed.

I actually ended up cancelling my order... I wasn't too happy with the CS I got. I got hung up/disconnected at least 3 times, had to talk to around 20 different people(!), etc... When I made the order yesterday, I was told that my numbers on Verizon wouldn't be ported until I activated the phones. They ported and activated the phones and sent them to me, so I had fun this morning getting the numbers ported back to Verizon. Fortunately, VZ customer service was really good and set me back up with no fees.
