Total Internet Addon Not Working?! Tmo Wing WM6.1

Alright,
I just went from the Tzones (aka TmobileWeb) setup to the Total Internet Addon($19.99) as this is really the only solution for ALOT of the 3rd party internet apps out there.

HTCWeather, HTCHome, Youtube player etc etc.
I set my APN to internet2.voicestream.com and removed ALL other connections. and soft reset the phone.

I am running Opentouch v5.3. (WM 6.0 base + features)

Anytime i try to connect through IE to any website i get the following popup error.

"the remote party has ended the connection." wap.voicestream works however i still get port blocks. WTF gives? anyone know whats up?

BTW this service was added approx 1hr~ ago and i have checked that it was added to my plan.

the first flash i ever did to my wing was a wm 6.1 rom update (from the xperia rom i believe)

and next thing i know, no more internet. i havent tried repurchasing the internet addon because my phone bill still says i have it on there. if worse comes to worse, i will go to t-mobile and tell them its not working and get them to fix it for me

of course i will restore the phone to its factory settings first

Make sure your GPRS authentication is set to PAP Authentication.

You can change this by going to (WM 6/6.1) Start > settings > connections > GPRS Setting > PAP Authentication > Ok (Most Cooked ROMs for some reason set this to CHAP by default.)

Also if you have the total internet addon plan use wap.voicestream.com with no proxy information..(this worked for me)

I just specifically said in my origional post that its a cooked rom. Open Touch 5.3.

i got mine to work using WAP.VOICESTREAM.COM with no proxy. I can get HTCHome plugins to work and youtube player to work.

But internet2/internet3.voicestream.com is bunk. I guess ill have to stick to wap.voicestream.com

Tmobile was really no help, i told them internet2 is not working and the said "wait 24 hours for your account to be reprovisioned"... Its been 24 hours now and it still doesn't work!

And Tier 1 support couldnt answer any of my questions..

What kind of GPRS Authentication does tmobile use PAP or CHAP
What is the difference between wap.voicestream.com and internet2/3.voicestream.com
What is the difference between the Blackberry unlimited plan & the Internet addon. (same price..)


I cant wait till 3G becomes avail this summer. Im just hoping someone can cook a radio update for the Wing that will add support for 3G..

My next issue is getting my Wing replaced under warranty. I bought the phone online and called Tmobile once i received it and put insurance on it. Apparently they never put the insurance on it and now when it comes time to get it replaced they said "Oh Well".. Anyone ever have to go through HTC to get a phone replaced? How hard was it?

Make sure you have "use proxy server" unchecked.

Im also using the same rom you're using and my mistake was i didn't choose the t-mobile network from the start.

go to Settings>Connections>Network Wizard

Make sure T-mobile is selected, mine was on ATT--then let the phone configure itself, it fixed my gprs connections and you should receive MMS now too.

Did that correctly in the first place. Still no working internet2.voicestream.com Only wap.voicestream.com

i did everything you guys said but i still cant access the internet over EDGE. only wifi.

you have to look at my t-mobile, make sure TmoWeb is removed and total internet is added
and, setup connections
use MyISP on both
setup MyISP profile
name: T-Mobile Internet
device: cellular line (GPRS)
APN: internet2.voicestream.com --or-- wap.voicestream.com
they're the same under total internet, except you use the latter with proxy to access t-zones
the difference between internet2 and 3
the former is used for total internet, while the latter is used for VPN (a special data service, must call CS to change, but you MUST have total internet at the first place)
if you want NAT protection with VPN, simply use wap APN, which is same as internet2

Really? I was never able to use the internet2 option. It would never connect. I always have to use wap.voicestream. And yes I have the total internet option.

Yeah doesnt do me anygood anymore.. I plugged my wing into my pc through USB and now it randomly freezes and i get a white screen. I have to pull the battery in order for it to boot again..
