I got a Sanyo 4920 to replace my worn out one but when I turned it on it said it was locked. there is no indication of a code to unlock it so I can change ESN account numbers. Any Ideas?

believe that it will unlock when you get c.s to do an esn change.
The funny thing is it has previously never had the battery on it or activated. I even called Sprint to make sure it was a clean ESN, which they said it was. Just powering up for the first time came up locked. I know someone who took his (doing the same thing) to Radio Shack/Sprint and they said they had to reset the passcode to bypass it, but he couldn't watch them becasue they were yards away behind a counter. Guess this is a state secret!!!
All that's needed to unlock a device that's been locked with the 4-digit user lock code is the MSL. Reprogram the device to *a different* phone number than what's programmed into the device at the time using ##MSL#. The user lock code will change to the last 4 digits of the phone number that was programmed in. You can then unlock the device, and reprogram for the correct phone number.
This won't work for PDA's, but for standard Sprint handsets, it'll work every time.
I have program to read/write MSL/ESN for sanyo 4920, if anyone comes back to this post and needs it.
Also, am looking for a sanyo 4920 bin file
