Thanks for the link! I am contacting lori right now. Because I already contacted John....he insisted that he also needs my phone to do the full unlock...or he can sell me a hypersim that will do "Half" unlock with restrictions like 920SH before. But after I rejected his offer to buy an other phone, the deal died off. lol...but I will contacting him again if he is the only one along with benny who has the unlock right now. I hope lori can provide some more info..lol

    Thanks EMAGDNIM!

I only played very briefly with the 923SH in-store, so the most I could do with the camera was swing it around and stare at the viewfinder.

29mm lens meaning it's a wider angle lens than most camera-phones, so you can capture more of a particular scene without stepping back. Incidentally the 903SH was also a 29mm lens (if I remember correctly).

More megapixels doesn't automatically translate to better image quality. As a general rule, using a camera with a certain amount of megapixels to take a picture that's smaller than maximum size, should yield a higher quality picture. For example, using the 923SH with its 5.0 megapixel camera to take a 3.2 megapixel picture, should yield a photo of higher quality than a photo taken at 3.2 megapixels with the 920SH's 3.2 megapixel camera. However certain factors can impact on the quality of such a picture, such as light sensitivity, lens size, sensor size, etc. I've even read suggestions that sensors with more megapixels stuffed into the same amount of physical space are no better than superceded ones with less pixels, but I don't know about that...

Very nice explanation AL9999! I hope they did more than just changing the lens to 29mm cause 920SH failed miserably when I got it unlocked in terms of camera use. I am already getting excited over the unlock...haha...can't wait to play with this phone and have it replace my dam gay 2G iphone. lol

Dude, little kid. I know you're little and all but there is no need to make two post as above. Just quote it all in the same post, Duh? You should read the rules.

After all, you wouldn't want this thread to be tossed in a garbage. (Especially since about half of this thread is junk anyways) Muhahaha...

Dude, calling him out does you no good. That that as a good advice. He might as well not sell you anything even if he knows that he can make good money off of you.

And regarding the 923SH's camera quality, you've seen the pictures that I have posted up. Do you need me to bring them up again so that everyone can see it? They were practically crap. The 912SH did much better.
If you want camera quality samples, look it up at k-tai impress. They have some demo shots over there and they are not that much better than the 920SH.

SHARP is seriously improving very little by little in their CMOS sensors. They are not anywhere near the quality of their CCD sensors. At all.

Honestly you're setting yourself up for a disappointment in this area. And your wait may just make it worse. You're basically a guinea pig for all of us. Hahahaha..

And just because the 923SH has a true wide angle lens means nothing about camera quality AT ALL. It basically means you get a tiny more of the entire image than a regular camera. It's nothing special since 903SH already has something VERY similar and with far superior, better image quality. Though the 903SH was not advertised with true wide angle lens compared to the 923SH.

Oh and just so you know... SHARP keitai gets firmware upgrades once in a while. Not only that, there is a VERY high chance that since you got the very early batch of 923SH, there is probably a lot of bugs in it.

How do I know? Well an unlocker told me that when he looked at his stock/untampered with January 2008 920SH, the firmware has been upgraded about a plenty few times than his November 2007 920SH. Thus it explained why his unlock method had different restrictions for each individual person (Because not everyone has the same January 2008 Firmware).

So, out of a very well hypothesis, your 923SH has probably many subtle bugs than a newer, later manufactured one.

In relation: Check out the 903SH. The euro firmware was upgraded few times from its original 1.046 firmware. The HK firmware was also known for this as its newer upgraded firmware did not allow the IMA trick to work with AAC files larger than 300KB.

By the way, what is the date your 923SH was manufacture? I'm curious. Care to share? I'm sure you won't need me to tell you where to get that info.

I was quite happy to hear their was finally an unlock for it, but judging from the comments on here it sounds like the camera quality is rubbish & not really worth considering.

Don't know why this thread will end up like this.
This thread started for people who are interest in 923SH/ any unlock of 923SH to leave comment and question. Not to leave your opinion about the phone.
There are some people like 923SH, and some hate it.
Even tho 923SH might have many bugs or problem, that's the risk of using a Jap phone, isn't it? But people still like to use them bcz they look good.
I don't know why people are keep posting their own negative opinion about 923SH. You don't like it doesn't other people can't like it.

Please you two just stop replying each others' post......I hate to read bunch of out-of-topic thread in here. -__- take me so much time to look up which people's post are worth to read and related to 923SH.

Hope this "war" end here...plx plx plx...

PS: If you two like to keep this war going, please make a new thread somewhere

hmmmm...well...I will see if my family camera (1.3pm nikon camera) is good enough. Or I would need to buy one<---I know...how sad I don't have a digi cam. lol I relied on my 903SH on being a digi cam before.

I can't wait till I get my 923SH unlocked, I really want to see what its capable of cause I keep reading good reviews on it but I can't play with it. Guess will have to wait for unlock or for my fd to return in sept to get a hold of a softbank sim.
