It's kind of irritating to see that people who ordered after I did have already received their phones.
I ordered my phone with Fido CS at around 11:30am on Friday, and I just called now and was told that they have no tracking info for me, because the phone is sold out, and I have to wait until August 1st.
I asked the rep to explain to me why people who ordered the phone later than me have already received it, and she said she had no explanation but agreed that it shouldn't be that way.
I don't mind that they're sold out, it's just that this disparity seems a bit unfair.

There could be any number of reasons. Fido orders and Rogers orders are likely processed at the same warehouse and the orders have to be filled out and the waybills attached and the barcodes entered and so on. Some may end up at the bottom of a pile where numerically they should be on top. And also there are only so many items you can send out in a day. If Rogers/Fido really did sell 9000 phones this weekend (most of them on Friday), it means they had to be processed and shipped in several batches.
And quantities of white phones vs. black phones and 16GB phones vs. 8GB phones may also have been a factor.
This is me trying to be reasonable, and not to sit here like a monster child screaming "Where's my phone!"

Thats what you would put into the UPS tracking number field!
NOTE: I ordered my phone on Friday @ ~10:30am...the tracking via my phone number on UPS was not available till around 1:00pm today....in fact, i called fido this morning @ 9:00am and was given my ACTUAL UPS tracking number, prior to my phone number ever working on ups website. So the point of this story is: DON'T WORRY THAT YOU CANT TRACK THE PACKAGE BY YOUR NUMBER!!! I couldnt either, until 1pm and then it arrived at 3pm.
Furthermore, the status went from "In Transit" to "Delivered"....it never had "Out for Delivery", at all!
Good luck to you all and reading several press released from today, I doubt anyone who already placed an order will have to wait till August 1st!!!

Yes, the woman who I spoke to at Fido this morning assured me that as long as my order got in by 4:30 on Friday, I was part of the 'first wave', as it were.
The 1-800 number for tracking Rogers shipments has an updated greeting for "iPhone" orders.
It says that orders for iPhones are delayed due to demand and if it hasn't been TEN days since you ordered your iPhone, please call back after 10 days.
WTF. I hope my phone isn't delayed. Waiting till Wednesday was already long enough!!!

Yeah, but when I ordered the phone on Sat., they said the earliest I would receive the phone was Wed. and the LATEST I would receive the phone was Fri. which is 5 business days.
Now they're saying it might take 10 business days to get the phone which is retarded.
