Expected wait time for delivery?

Are you supposed to use your phone number as tracking number or reference numberon UPS.ca?

Reference number. However, nothing showed for my phone number until the night the phone shipped, and by that time I had a tracking number from Rogers Track and Trace already.

When I last spoke to a CSR on Friday, I was told that they had no idea when to expect any 16GB phones, that there were none available in the stores, and that it could take till the end of August. So yes, I too am interested in the wildly different stories that people are being told. And I'm still waiting for my 16GB phone (white) from July 11.

I ordered yesterday (Saturday, July 27) through retentions and was told that both my iPhones should arrive before or at the end of the week (Friday, August 1). That would be great! One is a 16GB Black and the other is a 16GB White.

So--has anyone who placed a 16GB iPhone order with Fido last Wednesday gotten their phone yet? Just curious...

(Still no e-mail, no UPS status, no delivery, no phone.)

Well, after calling Fido both Monday and yesterday and finding out very little, I called again today and found out quite a bit.

My Friday morning 9 a.m. order wasn't processed properly, so I never made it into the queue for the phone. At all.

So, the CSR and I sat and went through my information and my order all over again--and now I am at the very back of the line, waiting for new stock to come in between now and August 1.

I would strongly recommend that anyone here who placed an order with Fido on Friday morning (and especially if you have no information coming up on the UPS site) should call them and ask them to check their order to make sure it's been submitted correctly.

I ordered my black 16GB from Fido on July 17. I was initially told that I would be getting it by August 1st. I just called them to make sure everything was processed correctly and to see if I could expect it this week. The csr is now telling me that the shipping date could be as far as August 29 for the black 16GB but he wasn't able to confirm if it could ship before that date. He also said that I should get a tracking number once it's shipped.

AUGUST 29TH?!!!

I'm going to call some stores today, to check stock. If I find any close to have some in stock I'm calling Fido back and asking them to give me a tracking number. If they can't guarantee that the phone is shipping today for tomorrow's delivery (as I was confirmed on Thursday) I go and buy one at the store. I was told July 29th, not August 29th.

Just spoke to another CSR that I am still on the waiting list (16gb black). She told me that they are receiving another order on Aug 1st. They are sold out of all models including the 8gb! From what I have heard this is more Apple's fault that anyone else as they are sold out worldwide! They even have plans of expanding this coming month to more countries and they can't even meet the demand for the ones it has now! It is kind of ridiculous.

I ordered 2 phones (16 GB white and 16 GB black) on a new activation through Rogers on the 23rd. I was told that there were none in stock but I should expect an e-mail when they come in, and that I could call in 5-10 days to get my tracking number. So far, nothing.... I'm really hoping that they come in very soon though because I might have to cancel and return the white one since I can't get rid of my contract I already have with Telus...

Anyone else order with Rogers on or around the 23rd and have you received an e-mail yet?

I don't know if I have the patience to wait my whole week off and waste my vacation fuming about the fact that I have to stay put and wait for it. Quite a interesting week indeed! If I don't see a tracking number tomorrow than I am going to buy one in store, even if it takes me all day to find a store that has one in stock!

I just called fido..i can't believe them..they keep telling me my account show "in progress" since last week and said they will sent me an iphone once it is available. I ask them when do they will get a shipment, they said they get it almost everyday, then how come I haven't get my iphone yet if my account shows "in progress".

So, hopefully, the CSR you talked to is more knowledgeable than the one I spoke with. This would mean that I would also get mine this week as we ordered the same model on the same day (July 17th at 8:30am)...

Well than, there will be some happy people in Montreal by the end of the week!

I also checked transit time for Mount Hope, ON, where all the orders are being shipped from. If there's tracking available on UPS (The CSR confirmed that Fido also includes the phone number as the reference number, even if it's a temp one, as in my case) before 5:00 PM than the the package is to be delivered in Montréal no later than the end of the day, next day, even if it ships standard. Note that no one told me this, I checked it myself on UPS.
