Received a reply from more-thing this morning. My problem with the case, is that if I hold it by the sides and invert it, the phone will slide 1/2 way out of the case. With a little extra effort, it's not difficult at all for it to fall out of the case completely. I'm afraid I'll pull it out of my pocket and the phone will fall out of the case.

More-thing wanted a picture of why I felt it was defective. I replied with another email describing my problem further and inquiring about what they would like a photo of. Awaiting next response from more-thing.

I also have the ifrogz case... Same one as this one...

I also have an orange and black one. It all does have the rubbery feel to it and works wonders. I've had both the orange and black, and the blue and black case for a while and none seem to be peeling or anything of the like. (including on the edges)

However, you have to be careful with taking the case off the iphone. When I had the 16gb white 3g, I took off the case to get access to my SIM card (to use a different phone for work), and while I was taking it off, it scratched the back of the phone. I ended up returning the phone anyways a couple weeks later when the 3gs came out. Now I have a 32gb Black 3gs in PRESTINE condition. No scratches at all. Looks brand spanking new.

I also have a white/clear silicone case for the phone, however it WILL not even come close to protecting the phone. I got it for .25 with free shipping...so why not. lol

I need help with making a decision on cases. I ordered my iPhone today and should have it within 2 weeks, but before I get it I'd like to at least decide on a case.

What I really want is something that will give me modest protection against simple drops. I don't need the Otterbox because I don't plan on dropping it off a roof or anything like that. I think that means I should get a silicone case instead of a hard case.

I've been looking at the SwitchEasy Capsule Rebel and also their Colors line.

The Capsule Rebel looks like probably the best iPhone case there is, and I really like the design. But from what I hear there are spots where it exposes the bevel. Is this enough of a problem that I should consider a different case? I'd like to keep the chrome looking as nice as I can for as long as I can.

As for the Colors case, it looks perfect for what I need. But I have heard that dirt and dust can get inside the case and scratch up my iPhone. Can anyone who owns one share their experiences and whether this is true? I know that otherwise the case is regarded as very good.

The Speck Candyshell looks perfect (though I don't love the colors at all), but it seems to be completely out of stock everywhere!

As you can see I have done a lot of research, but I can't really find the answer to my questions.

This whole quest for a case is making me stressed out. I have a tendency to over-obsess about things, so am I worrying too much? Should I just get a basic silicone case and be done with it? Are these problems overhyped? Is there another good case that I'm just missing? Thanks in advance!

I highly recommend the Speck CandyShell if you can find one somewhere. I am not using one anymore since I decided that I would take a risk and go with thinness instead of protection. I am now using a Gogo case.

The CandyShell (if you can live with your color choice) has a softer interior and a harder outer shell. It is a good mix of the two worlds and provides very good protection. I returned mine because of the added bulk and dislike of the colors. Those are the trade offs though, unfortunately. The bulk will be there no matter what case you choose since you're looking for drop protection.
    Woohoo!

I also used to have the candyshell and have switched to the GoGo case.
The only down sides to the candyshell is that the buttons are a little difficult to use. Also the thickness of the case and size of the headphone hole cause some plugs to not fit the headphone jack. So when trying to connect it to some stereo systems I had to remove it from the case. For my car I just bought a different cord with thinner jacket on the cord plug.
The thin strip at the bottom of the case that covers the bezel flexes a little and did lightly scuff the chrome at the bottom, otherwise did no damage to the phone. This happened on both mine and my wife's iPhones. But I would argue it did more to protect than it did to harm and scuffing was quite minor after many months of use.

I love my Capsule Rebel Case and just recently changed colors. I like having my buttons covered; less area for dust to enter! I find the cover fits well, add little bulk, and is easy to handle. If I am in jeans, I like to keep it in my back pocket; it slides in and out with easy. Other times I keep it in my purse and do not have to worry about the phone being scratched.

I have never had my bezel scratched while in the case or while removing it. When I took my case off to replace my phone once and again when I changed the case, my phone looked brand new. On my first case there was a tiny spot where the bezel could be seen; the phone was still protected.

I love that there is no dust on my phone and I feel it is protected. I am anal enough that I also keep the little tab in the bottle to keep dust out of there! I just take it out when I charge my phone at night.

If you order from Switcheasy online, you will most likely have the cover in 3 days depending on where you live. I have heard there has been some trouble with the black Rebels, but I can tell you I have had 2, one light green and one in cherry that have been excellent. I gave the light blue one to a cousin for a gift and she loves it.

Did you use the Rebel case with a screen cover underneath? Did it fit, and did it bubble around the edges?

I use the Power Support Anti-Glare Crystal film found at the Apple store. I have no lifting or bubbling. The Rebel does come with 2 screen protectors which I used at first. I did have a bit of lifting on one corner but I think it was more the way I applied it rather than a bad product. I do love the Anti-Glare Crystal as it doesn't attract make-up and other greasy spots. If it gets a smug from greasy fingers, I just wipe it clean with a damp cloth and it is as good as new. Some people like the Power Support Clear and other like the Anti-Glare; you have to decide which is best for you.

    Here's my lineup:

Top: Case Logic belt case - generic and fits the iPhone with most skins and slim cases very well.

From Left to Right: Seidio Innocase II (notice cracking on the left side by the seam), Power Support Air Jacket (rip off), Hard Plastic Armor Case, Case-Mate Fuel.

I use the fuel when traveling and don't have access to a charging solution.

My Griffin Reveal should be here this Friday!

Just dug through some cases from previous phones. Found a nice htc hip holster to carry my 3GS naked in, it fits very well. I don't want to cover it, so rather than have it in my pocket. I'll drop it in the holster when not in my hand... : )

I saw the case logic case at Walmart. I noted one is for the iPhone and one is generic (is bigger). How do you like it? I have a magnetic one that I got at Best Buy (brand?) that is OK. Its made for the iPhone, but its a tight fit and keeps switching the ringer on/off. The leather is already coming off of the belt clip.

i've been receiving tons of compliments with it.
