Blackberry App World officially launched. Not bad. I'd like to be able to browse the app list online via a PC browser though. Well, you can see the featured apps but that's it

Thanks, yeah, I've found a bunch of cool stuff for my Curve at ridiculously low prices out at Amazon. I've been buying used books and CDs/DVDs through them since forever. Schweeet!

How does it work? Is the video pretty choppy? I would imagine that if it is not used with an EVDO signal, its full of lag

I haven't tested it in EVDO yet. in 1x, it's pretty much unusable, although it will stream audio only.

One thing i forgot to mention, you have to be using OS 4.5.0.131 or greater for this to work!

So, I would just like to point out that there is a new BlackBerry application for those who (like myself) are generally too computer illiterate (I'm pretty sure that's spelled wrong, sorry) to make their own ringtones. US Cellular now offers its easy edge classic Tone Room on the BlackBerry 8130, 8330, and 8830. Ringtones are available to purchase for 2.99 each. Any ringtones you want to preview you would have to preview on the website, then you could download them from the Tone Room application that was downloaded to the phone.

Just my tidbit of information for the day.

I used slingplayer on my 8330 in EVDO coverage, it works great! the video quality is excellent! I watched two episodes of Arrested Development; it buffered quite a few times though, for 5 seconds, then picked right back up. It was definitely usable though.

It is pretty difficult to use it to control a dvr; there is approximately a ten second lag on the controls, which can get pretty frustrating. I'll probably use this most with the built-in tuner on the slingbox.

The BB Facebook client has been updated to version 1.5, effective today. Just download the new version from mobile.blackberry.com, log back in, and you're done. The improvements?

Your BB phonebook and Facebook phonebook are now linked.
Your Facebook events and B-days are now linked to your BB Calender.
Facebook messages are now threaded, just like on your PC.
You now will have access to Facebook Phonebook and Facebook Caller ID from your BB.

And since my contacts, calendar, and messages are all linked to my company's BES the update is pretty much pointless to me.

Even in this update the only thing worthwhile is the link to the mobile site, in other words it's worthless
