Alltell Rokr Zm6 can't USB charge?

I just purchased a Zm6 for my wife, and have a plethora of USB chargers. One of the factors in this phone purchase was the mini-USB connection.

However, the only way I seem to be able to charge the phone is with the included charger. I have a cheapo wall unit (5v 1A) that fails, a DLO wall plug that accepts any USB cable (5V 1A) and a DLO car charger that accepts normal USB. I have also tried a computer via USB.

All chargers other than the included charger yield a message "unable to charge" or something similar. Is there anything I can do to make this charge off of normal USB? I thought USB charging was pretty much universal.

I did note that the official charger says 5V and 550mA, so I guess I can try to find some that have that rating.

you need to download the motorola handset drivers for it to charge from the computer

You should not be charging it with those other chargers, they are way too hot! The factory charger is rated at 550mA while the other chargers you mentioned are 1Amp. That is a major difference and could possibly damage your phone!

Also, using chargers other than the factory unit can void your warranty.
