Just switch to a consumer line, do the upgrade and then switch back to corporate.
That's what I did.

Hi everyone. First post!
I've tried searching for this info but no luck.
My issue is that I had managed to find a 32 gig iphone4, I'm eligible for the hardware discount, but because my voice and data are below $55, the store I found it say that I have to pay $469. The kicker is, I called corporate only last month to negotiate a cheaper deal (from $57 before tax), which they gave me, that apparently put me below the threshold... despite telling them I intended to upgrade.
My plan: $17.42 voice, $25.00 data... total before takes is $42.40
I just called the corporate care office and they tell me I need to add $13.00 on to my plan to get the best promo price. By my math, that will end up being $468 extra by the end of the three year contract.
By the time I'm off the phone with them, the other guy has given away my iphone.
Does corporate have a direct retentions number? I've tried calling regular retentions and they say they can't help me. At this point, I'll pay the 468 all I want is to upgrade my phone. My 3g is so slow it's killing me!
Does anyone have any advice?
Just switch to a consumer line, do the upgrade and then switch back to corporate.
That's what I did.
I am looking at adding a BB to one of my lines, however, I was told that smartphones now all require data plans (by Corp HUP) and that corp plans cannot have any credits (by Retentions). I find this curious, as my 2 other lines have significant credits...
I am a Federal employee and have the following:
Line 1 - iPhone 3GS
$18/m plan 1175
$5/m ultd e&we
$6.95/m SAF
$0.50/m 911
$30/m 6GB data plan
Various credits
Line 2 - iPhone 3GS
$18/m plan 1175
$5/m ultd e&we
$6.95/m SAF
$0.50/m 911
$30/m 6GB data plan
Various credits (but less than line 1)
Line 3 - Samsung regular phone
$18/m plan 1175
$5/m ultd e&we
$6.95/m SAF
$0.50/m 911
No credits
Any ideas? Also, what is this $17 plan? I cannot see the image that was posted above by another user as proof.
I currently have a line with a HSBC Rogers corporate plan (0 months left) and I have another with Telus with 13 months left. Would I be able to port my Telus account and would Rogers be willing to take a chunk of the ECF?
Post this in wrong forum any thoughts?
I am trying to locate a Samsung Galaxy to purchase through HUP as I am elligable. I have a corporate account and I have confirmed with rogers corporate that I am elligable. The issue I have is that getconnected.ca is my corporate dealer and they have no clue when the Galaxy is set to arrive.
Rogers Plus stores i've called don't have it either but even when they check my # and postal code they tell me they can't touch my account anyway.
Anyone know of another corp dealer I can go to and pick up the Galaxy?
VERY annoying that I walked into 3 Bestbuy and/or future shops on Monday and they had a bunch of Galaxy's but Rogers stores do not. Even more frustating that Corporate dealers don't have it.
I am the customer with 30+ devices on Rogers network not Joe schmo who walks into Future shop. GRRRR I know I know Galaxy isn't really a big seller for Corporate types but still.
I was told Rogers Plus was the only place I can do a HUP in person, is this not true? I have an EPP.
Can anyone tell me what corp plan I can get for working for Aviva and IBM?
I am looking for something with 6pm e&w, unlimited incoming, unlimited text, caller id, voice mail, 6gb of data, and mayb some long distance minutes. I don't need that many minutes as I don't use a lot. I take advantage of mostly the e&w and the unlimited incoming.
Thanks!

Insider Plan (200 Minutes + Evening & Weekends Starting @ 6pm + Voice Mail) + 200 Bonus Minutes + 100 Long Distance Minutes + Caller ID + Unlimited Incoming + Telus to Telus + $15 Unlimited Web/IM/Email
$17.30 + $15.00 + $6.95 (SAF) + $0.75 (911) = $40 + Tax = $45.20
Got offered this
Unlimited local calling
CID, VM, 2500 text outgoing, unlimited incoming text
500meg data
$60 + HST
Two questions
1. is there a corporate retentions?
2. would I be able to do better?
OK...so I haven't looked at my bill in a while. I was on a corporate plan, but I think they busted me 'cause the bill no longer comes with the company name on it.
Anyways.....tell me how BADLY I am doing with this deal. I am about halfway through a 3 year contract. I called about 2 months ago to check on an upgrade, and they told me that I was not eligible for one until the beginning of 2011. I told her I wanted to add on a data plan and she still told me I would have to buy a new device outright. Does any of this sound right? Please forgive my noobieness.
250/Unltd Eve/Wkds plan 25.00
Monthly plan credit -5.00
Value pack 15.00
Unltd incoming 10.00
250 bonus mins 0.00
Sys acc fee 6.95
911 fee .75
Total after taxes Approx $60.00
Someone give me some guidance if possible. It would be greatly appreciated. Thx.
You can only do a HUP after being 30 months in your contract.
Adding a data plan is a requirement when you are doing a hardware upgrade to a smartphone in order to get the fully subsidized price.
You current plan is terrible.
Speak to customer relations and switch to a non - SAF plan.
You should be able to accomplish:
250 minutes - $25
$10 Unlimited Incoming - credited since you already have it.
$10 Value pack - 2500 sms, CID/VM - credited easily
250 bonus - credited since you already have it.
Grrf - $2.48
+ tax
Thanks poppy. I appreciate the help. I actually do need to move up to a data plan, but I need to know if there is anything out there that includes the above in a data packagae, or is the data package added on as a standalone product? I have had an account with Rogers for 15 years, and they still don't seem to cut me any deals. I guess they just want you to sit on the phone and haggle with them for 4 hours.
Anyways, I guess what I am asking is, if I want to add a data plan, would it just be a straight addition to the figures that you gave me in your last post?
Thanks again.
You would be able to add the 500mb plan for $20 ($5 discount) or $10 discount if you are lucky.
