Should I negotiate a plan first, then order an iPhone? I suspect renewing on a 3-yr plan will remove any chance of negotiating with retentions.
Another question: Is it possible to pick up an iPhone in-store and renew on my contract (retention credits included) if I'm on a corp plan? Or will I have to order through the phone ?
Thanks!
If you want the iphone, the only way to get it at the consumer discount pricing is to change your plan to one of their iphone plans.. and they are horrible. The other option is to pay "full" price which is around $500-$600 minus your corp discount.. probably $100.
Lastly you can negotiate at retentions for consumer pricing while keeping your existing plan, but doing so will limit your negotiating power for other things you mentioned like the texting etc.
Currently Telus is offering $200 account credit for people to switch over.. pretty good bargaining chip if you ask me.
