    Cannot send or receive outlook email Q9h

    I am having some trouble with sending and receiving emails using Outlook on my Q9h with windows mobile 6.

    I have ensured that all settings correct for pop and smtp, user name and password and all that jazz.

    I can send and receive emails through pc using this account. No issues there.

    I have no internet blocks on my account.

    The device will connect, looks for changes, then hangs on receiving for about a minute, then errors out on me.

    Does the same for sending. Just hangs there.

    I have ensured that there are no messages waiting on the server.

    I have deleted the account from the device and set it up again. I have done this numerous times with numerous accounts and still no dice. Every once in a blue moon I will be able to receive something, but haven't been able to successfully send anything as of yet.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Q9h emails

    if you are trying to sync directly to a SERVER using the OMA you need to verify if you have SSL enabled if so, you can add the SSL to the phone and Sync with SSL. or You can disable SSL and open port 80 to sync without Ssl.

    Which ever method will require some IT admin work.

    Thanks for the reply.

    The email that I am trying to sync is one provided by my ISP. Does not require SSL enabled to access on PC.

    Now I can receive, but not able to send...

    ahh, the ISP emails. yes you are then using a form of POP mail which is difficult to use considering your ISP has to allow the email to be received Mobile.
    To get your email from a (COmcast / ATT / SBC global / Wow/ road runner ) type of provider you have to use the pop settings.

    I guess the first question to ask, to solve your problem is who is your ISP.
