I have an 8GB original iPhone and want 16GB of total storage. I don't want to get a 16 GB 3G yet and Apple won't sell the original 16GB unless your replacing a broken one.

If I buy a damaged V.1 16GB from an third party at a cheap price will the Apple store let me buy a replacement from them if I turn in the damaged phone?

A few months ago I broke the glass on my original 8GB and bought a new one from them for $200.00 because it was out of warranty and I needed one right away.

Do you think this will work again or will the IMEI number or something else prevent me from doing this. Thank you in advance.
