al you have to do is delete some old files on the phone. the ringtones take up too much space. i can only put four custom ringtones with bitpim before i start to lose the ability to txt message. that sould work. it did for me. hope this helps

I'm having the issue that was mentioned a few pages back of whenever I run the Gmail java app, it forces me to reinstall Opera Mini when I try to open the browser - therefore Opera Mini isn't really persistent in the sense that I can't save bookmarks, etc.

Anyone else have/solve this issue? Thanks

    gmaps

    keybo2/env3
this should be the same as env2 or keybo i hope

I have tried overriding the gmap jar and jad in telus navigator folder but when i start navigator nothing happens, i searched i found i have to edit a file in db folder wich i did but i guess i did that all wrong , the phone booted in LG logo and stayed there for hours and finally booted, i uploaded the backup file and was all back to normal. i could use a sample pictiure of what to edit to make gmaps work . thanks

check out this tutorial with pictures on my Blog, just put MP3 on my koodoo LG Keybo

    http://personaldna.blogspot.com/2009...-9100-aka.html

with the pictures you can't fail.. Just read carefully .. Its designed for dummies. The people who wrote the original tutorial made me hunt for information.. With my tutorial you should be good to go..

Credits to aplen22 for the original tutorial. But the person isn't very technical and specific.

Windows XP SP3 Tutorial, works fine on windows..

so I signed up for KooDoo bought a USB Cable, and I have a $35 a month more talk and text plan. I'm using Facebook mobile texts and I hope to god that they don't charge. I heard from a friend about their crazy fees on your bill.

how to hack your LG Keybo CDMA Phone internal memory. Warning: if you're dumb and like to delete all your phones files, be sure to use the backup option.
Not a bad idea if you have a backup drive and are really paranoid by the way.

    my extremely quick tutorial
    1) download the drivers
    http://members.driverguide.com/drive...riverid=602944
Not sure if the link will die but
alternatively try googling for lg_usb_drivers.zip and pray you don't have a version with a virus inside

    2) plug in your phone let it get detected and wait till Windows XP SP3 or whatever you personally use detects the drivers

    3) Download BitPim I USED Version 1.0.7 test.
    Get yours here: http://www.bitpim.org/#download-devel
    for windows xp/vista
    http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/b...p.exe?download

    4) open bitpim,
    edit-->settings
From the phone type drop down select
    LG-VX1900(env2)

    5) select your COM Port click browse then look for
LGE CDMA USB Serial Port COM4 .. Or equivalent.. The COM# doesn't really matter, just the device name should have LGE in it hopefully. then click OK

    6) not sure if it worked? at the bottom you will See a yellow dot saying manually connected. Now try this..if you have a texting plan and sent/received some texts and didn't delete them all click the "get data from phone" button, .. The first button icon at the top , check off SMS , at the bottom it will say reading , let it finish.

Now click the + beside SMS and click inbox and VOILA there are your text messages. you can Export those Text messages by right clicking around the Inbox icon, it make take a few right-clicks before it goes through for some reason.

    7) back to the main point..click the View menu-->View File System
Apparently it is NOT selected by default, so do this, now at the left tree you will see FileSystem, Click it you will see something like this with a / (the root)

    8)

expand that root symbol,(it will say BUSY at the bottom for a few seconds, close your eyes for 15-30 seconds and take a deep breath.) and navigate to /brew/shared/ringtone you can then transfer Mp3s into there and such though the phone doesn't have a load of internal memory maybe I think it has 60 MB or something you can check that from your phone options.. anyways

Right click Ring tone-->new File-->you will get a select file prompt, select the MP3, (you could shorten the file with audacity (free software to open up mp3s and cut and paste different parts of the songs or whatever),

    DONE. Enjoy transferring songs.

NOTE WELL: if you Try to drag and drop Mp3 into the Media-->ringers , your phone will restart but not get the songs on it I believe. Just a fore-warning so you don't waste your time dragging the wrong stuff

Yes your incoming messages are backed up on the server due to the fact you loaded to many ringtones and the internal memory is full... Clear out all ringtones call phone provider tech support and get them to push through the messages unless you dont care and they can just delete them and start over...

    wow xsouldeath, great tutorial.

i did all that 4 months ago, i just wasn't sure i'd remember how to do it all again.

also, did you manage to get rid of the camera shutter sound?

i was just about to get it done (had managed to make the flasing program working) but for some very ****** random reason, MultiExtractor just doesn't work anymore (keep desinstall/reinstall it and it never starts, though it used to) (thanks to windows 7 probably).

    OTA = over the air

meaning you can just download the apps through the wap browser.

Which versions of the apps are you using from GetJar (what phone did you select)? a lot of the apps I have downloaded don't play nice with the Keybo's keyboard

If you want Opera on this phone and your under the Telus network, just do this:

    1. Download the generic Opera Mini Advanced (NOT BASIC!) browser

    2. Follow the instructions on the first page of this thread to get into the file system

    3. Open Brew/ams

    4. You should be faced with several folders here that are numbered. This is where you're going to have to decide which java program to overwrite. Personally I just overwrote the Telus navigator since I'll never use the bugger. If you can't figure out what's what since everything is labeled by numbers and not names, save out the folders .Jad file to the desktop or something. Open the file with Wordpad. Within the first 10-20 lines of text, you should see the description of what program the .jad is for. #12 on my phone turned out to be Telus Navigator. #11 was Telus Mobile music.

    5. Once you've picked out which program to overwrite, rename the Opera .jad and .jar files to whatever number the program is on your phone. Drag and drop the opera files into the folder on the phone. They should overwrite them, and you'll see their size value change.

    6. You don't even have to turn off your phone. Go to whichever program it was that you overwrote. It'll have the same name and icon as it always did, but when you open it it should run whatever program you replaced it with. My Telus Navigator thing now loads Opera Mini

    Hope that helps!
Which version of Opera Mini Advanced? I've tried English UK, Intl, US and only the letters work on the keyboard. The only way to get a '.' is to go to the text entry page. Kind of tough to type a web address when you can't type '.' Or is this the way Opera works?
