It's a new firmware update that came out a few days ago ( http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/...=266139#M43915 ). Not entirely sure what it changes so have held off for now.

    Thank you, StoneJaw.

Further: this upgrade would unbrand my Rogers 5310. This would be good, but does the unbranding affect other apps and network services with Rogers?

Everything with rogers works just fine only thing is, you will have to manually put in the web and mms settings if you want to use those but its easy and there is a thread in the Rogers section that has the info you need for that. All the apps are there except the rogers music player and crap, the Nokia music player is the best.

Thanks again Stonejaw! I don't use my phone for web or mms so I'm gonna go for it.

I just used this to unbrand my 5310b Red. Worked great.

Anyone have the product code for the Red coloured phone? Or at least the know where to get the Red themes (if that's the only difference)?

    Some product codes:

    0556882 5310 ? (V08.32)
    0556883 RM-304 5310B AMER-N NA DEFAULT RED (V07.01)

    0557166 5310 ? (V07.01)
    0557167 5310 ? (V03.63)
    0557168 5310 ? (V03.63)
    0557169 RM-304 5310B AMER-N ROGERS RED (V03.63)

    0558987 RM-304 5310B AMER-N CBW BLUE (no update)
    0558988 RM-304 5310B AMER-N NA DEFAULT BLUE (V09.42)
    0558989 RM-304 5310B AMER-N T-MOBILE RED (V08.21)

    0560335 5310 ? (V08.32)
    0560336 5310 ? (V07.01)
    0560337 5310 ? (V07.01)

    0560338 5310 ? (V03.63)
    0560339 5310 ? (V07.01)
    0560340 RM-304 5310B AMER-N ROGERS BLUE (V03.63)

    0561208 RM-304 5310B AMER-N T-MOBILE SILVER (V08.21)
    0561209 RM-304 5310B AMER-N T-MOBILE ORANGE (V08.21)
    0561210 RM-304 5310B AMER-N T-MOBILE PURPLE (V08.21)
    0561211 5310 ? (V08.21)
    0561212 5310 ? (V08.21)
    0561213 5310 ? (V08.21)

    0561403 5310 ? (V03.63)
    0561404 5310 ? (V03.63)
    0561405 5310 ? (V03.63)
    0561406 5310 ? (V03.63)
    0561407 RM-304 5310B AMER-N SUNCOM BLUE
    (V05.91)
    0561408 5310 ? (V05.91)

V03.63 firmwares are probably (guessing) Rogers branded products.
V05.91 firmwares are probably Suncom brands.
V07.01 firmwares are the current red default version, and may apply to other colors.
V08.21 brands are probably T-Mobile brands.

Therefore it's possible that 0561211-0561213 are default silver/purple/orange. (Needs testing; my phone is default blue at V9.xx.) The 7.01 firmwares should also be testable.

    I have an American Silver T-Mobile 5310:

    v 05.91
    20-02-08
    RM-304
    Product Code: 0561208

What code should I use to unbrand it?

So far these are the only unbrand codes I know:

    Red: 0558989 USA
    Blue: 0558988
    Red: 0551710 Euro

Are these correct codes for red?

    THANKS

If v5.91, your known choices are blue and red (for the US):

    0556883 RM-304 5310B AMER-N NA DEFAULT RED (V07.01)
    0558988 RM-304 5310B AMER-N NA DEFAULT BLUE (V09.42)

    I have blue-on-silver myself.

However, if you haven't upgraded yet (and feel adventurous to look for other colors), you could try one of the following codes:

    0560336 5310 ? (V07.01)
    0560337 5310 ? (V07.01)
    0560339 5310 ? (V07.01)

    0561211 5310 ? (V08.21)
    0561212 5310 ? (V08.21)
    0561213 5310 ? (V08.21)

Disclaimer: The only information I have on these is that they are valid codes for 5310s, gathered from the Nokia firmware site. I do not know whether they are branded or not (which is the point), whether they will hurt your phone, so on. The only reason I mention them is:

    1) They may be the elusive unbranded silver/orange/purples.
    2) I've already upgraded past this version and can't test myself (unless there's a way).

If you get into trouble somehow, the default blue is at v9.xx, and should let you 'escape'. Alternately, if you try the first block of codes, default red should let you reinstall over them. Again, no promises as to what these codes do or possibly inflict.

I have the same issue and ignore it. If I had to guess I'd say open it up in Explorer and search for hidden files, then delete.

Well I'm just trying to figure out what this folder is used for, it has an icon on it, so it's something, and I might find it useful, if I can figure out what it's for.

But at this point in time it looks like nothing, other then storing in...

I'll call Nokia and see what they say...

I thought that 0558989 is for USA Red?

Also why does the Red version show a lower firmware version number?

If I have blue installed at the moment can I switch and check the Red out, and if I don't like it, switch back to the blue?

    THANKS

That code you mention is for T-Mobile's red.

The reason that different colors may have different numbers may be due to either rollout date, branding, or some other reason.
