Retention and Plan Deals: Look what I got!

I'm currently rocking a Voice 25 Double Minutes plan with 1 Gig of data for $45 + taxes. I've also got T2T LD, PKG15 (unlimited SMS/VM10/Caller ID) and 100 Canadian LD minutes.

I've negotiated and added bonus features over the last four or five years. I originally started with the EPP plan and got TELUS to add some bonus minutes, LD minutes and unlimited SMS. Going to a Blackberry got me a bit more and re-signing for a Desire got me to the point I'm at today.

I'm very happy with my plan, but wondering if they will come close to matching the current Wind Holiday Miracle Plan. It's loaded!

Just signed again... hopefully its a fair deal. I couldn't get them to offer anything else or even budge. They seemed adamant that was all there was. So I bit the bullet. Went with a Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate and a BB Torch. Plans as follows....

50 mins 5$ - Free
6GB Loyalty Data Add-on 30
CLID reg $8 - Free

Total cost is $65.00 plus taxes per line.

That is not a good deal. I recently re-signed (been with Telus for 14 years) on a 3 year contract and got a Samsung Fascinate:

Voice 30 plan:
350 minutes
150 bonus minutes (total of 500 minutes)
30 minutes LD
CID, VM3
unlimited evenings/weekends start at 6pm
unlimited txt
1G data loyalty 20

$50 plus tax ($56 total)

I was MTM on my previous Insider voice plan, and decided it was time to upgrade to Android. The best I could do for 1gb data and >300 voice minutes was:

• $60 for Voice & Data Flex (SK version?)
  
  • 400 anytime mins
  • 6pm evenings+weekends
  • nationwide family calling (no use to me)
  • VM3, CC, CW
  • selected option: My Faves 5 Nationwide
• free Package 12 (CID, VM10)
• free Msg250 (250 sent, unlimited received?)

Total: $60+tax

Telus likely assumed I'd go for a 3yr term on new hardware (which I did), but there was nothing explicit.

After 10yr with Telus I'd expected/hoped to get closer to some of the $50 plans that others have reported, but after 4 calls to L&R this was the best I could do. We'll see next time, after I have some data plan history with them...

Following up on the good ideas here I was able to do the following through LNR:

Get them to give me 3 year pricing with 12 months left on my current contract without the dreaded cancellation fee.

Drop the activation charge for switching devices.

supertalk 15 (VM10, CID, unlimited texts)
6 gig data plan
6pm eve/weekends

for $60/month

option in my plan for moving to $95/unlimited north america plan
with the same options as above (except data).
