    Interesting.

Rogers has 'small-market' plans, but are restricted to....wonder of wonders...small markets. IE, your billing address needs to be IN SAID PROVINCE/REGION, to be eligible. The plans simply will NOT populate for the Rep unless your Postal Code meets the plan/SOC Criteria.

Are you telling us that your billing address is in Brampton, and you were given that plan? If so., then I'm wondering why they even call it that, if it's clearly available to anybody in the country. Unless Telus (I would highly doubt this) is LESS stringent on eligibility of such non-in-market plans .

Either way., well done! 90mins effort, WELL worth the investment.

Typically they are restricted as far as I know, but this particular plan has been used as a retention plan for out of province customers for a good couple months or so now.

^ Thanks for lettin' me know.

How does it stack up against a current regular retention plan offer? The basic that is?

Rogers had* the usual 250mins @ 8pm plan for $20 or $25 for years, the small-market version of it was $10 @6pm INCLUDING unlim network calling. That was a crazy plan to have (I swiped up two).

Oh, correction btw, you don't need a billing address IN those markets, you just need to select an eligible area code. Sorry about that. Totally forgot.

I think you're getting a $5 discount + free CID ($8/m I think), so $13 in credits. Decent deal IMO

Well got of the phone with lnr and the guy was so helpful. His name was Sean. Anyways plan before was the 65 dollars. It included 300 daytime minutes unlimited eve and weekend calling from 6pm and unlimited text and call display and voicemail and 6gb of data. What I got after 10 minutes is the sask 55 plan. 500 daytime minutes unlimited eve and weekends from 5pm unlimited text and also my fav 10 nationwide call display and voicemail. Also added on the long distance minutes for 3 dollars that includes 30 min of ld in Canada and us. Not bad I think for a plan. Very content with what I have.

I guess it depends on how much data you use, but I personally use almost a gig monthly. You could bundle the $20 1 gig with a $25 voice plan. You can check out my sig for ideas.

I personally don't like being limited by a fave plan and have most of my friends on TELUS so an in network plan makes much more sense. It all depends on your particular situation.

Been a customer for 5 years. Contract ended. Called to resign. Quickly resigned, after 20 minutes of negotiating:

    500 mins
    My Ten Nationwide
    Unlimited Msg
    5 Gigs of Data
Unlimited Eve and Wkd @ 5
    CID, VM, CW, Conf

CID $8 free for 3 Years.

    $62 after tax.

My brother had Student 55, and paid for CID, so $70. He resigned in Jan but couldnt negotiate. Phone died, needed a new one stat. I asked the rep for the same promo plan for him, she gave it, even with the free CID. Awesome. Nicest rep ive ever spoken too.

    Other option she offered,

    300mins
    Eve and Wkd after 6
    Unlimited Msg
    CID VM
    6 gigs of data

    all for $47 plus tax.

    What I had.

    300 daytime min
    100 canada LD min
    Unltd local incoming min
    evening/wknds @ 6
    PKG15
    6GB data

    $75+GST

Then my unltd local incoming min got dropped once my 3-yr contract expired 2 wks ago.

I called in just now to LnR for the first time about contract renewal and this is what the guy offered me:

    300 daytime min
    30 canada LD min
    evening/wknds @ 6
    VM
    CID
    unltd video and txt msg
    6gb data

    $66+GST

I mentioned to the guy that's not even a discount considering how I don't have unltd local incoming min and 70 min less for canada LD. He mentioned I don't usee a lot of Canada LD and my daytime minutes. He said I am saving $9

I told him I would pass.

See, this is exactly what a rep is SUPPOSED to be doing. Actually analyzing your useage and offering based on that scenario, but these 'good' reps are far and few between. End the call, and call again hoping to get a rep who'll give you what you 'want', rather what you 'need'....lol.

Umm, isn't the fact you had unlimited incoming minutes the reason you don't use a lot if daytime minutes? Lol

It's my understanding that unlimited incoming is one if the hardest features to get comped. I went a different route and got unlimited in network calling and LD. That covers most my calls.

The plan I got for my mom 4 years ago is pretty sick.

    $25 for 200 minutes + free e/w @ 6:00 & VM3 (EPP 17.30 + $7.70 SAF/911)
    $2 for 5:00 early evenings
    Free incoming (no expiration)
Free 100 bonus minutes (no expiration)
Caller ID free for 3 years (renewed once already)
    $2 paper billing

With tax she pays $32.48 for 300 minutes, free incoming, e/w @ 5:00, voicemail 3, and caller ID. This was from back in the day when TELUS had the most easy going retentions department by far.

LOL....the current ret climate has radically changed from what it was 2yrs ago no? I don't think it's good to be posting 2yr old plans now for anything but to flaunt them in the eyes of people who're trying to get anything now.

    epeen feel good now?
