I got the same Telus plan for 55, activation fee waived. I thought it was a decent deal.how did you manage the Rogers plan? My sister has been with them for ten years, resigned without negotiating because she needed a phone, dropped hers inn the toilet. Not sure what to say to Rogers, called once, worse plan.....

    what you guys think?
Although still quite a bit more expensive that what I am paying for more services, yes I get more, for the current climate this offer doesn't make any sense.

You'll need to explain how exactly you got this offer from retentions, given that
a-retentions doesn't deal with telus customers
b-retentions doesn't offer these deals on new activations, which is what you'd need to be doing (unless you called in using the account info of someone's tenured line which you are considering tor'ring
c-rogers currently won't offer a quarter of that to people these days LOL.

Lastly, saying 'free upgrade' is meaningless. Anybody gets a 'free upgrade'. Now if you're suggesting you were offerred a $269.99 credit / 2 years, then certainly that is more amazing, and makes it clear that you are speaking about a corporate offer, which isn't retentions.

Last thing, First rule about Rogers in this climate. If someone offers you something half decent., if not tremendously great, don't 'sit on it'., because as great a they'll say call in again and you can get it, the next rep can just as easily discredit/dismiss/trash talk that previous rep-saying that they were not anywhere nearly as awesome as they thought they were-and aren't even authorized to make such an offer LOL.

i never said it was retention that offered me this offer.

i just said it was offered to me, and my question is should i leave telus for it?

now, if you want to know how i got it, all you have to do is ask.
on the upgrade topic, after 2 years i can upgrade at the current 3 year promo price. don't have to wait the 3 years. if i want to upgrade after 6 months, then i would pay $10 per month for 18 months (1.5 years).

so i'll ask again, if you were in my shoes, would you make the switch to rogers after 13 years wth telus?

    Thank you Koodo!

I just saved a whack by asking LandR to match the Koodo Canada Wide plans. They have non-advertised plans in place if you ask. I got for our iphone 4's:

    Koodo match 50:
    Unlimited Canada wide calling incoming/outgoing
    Unlimited Texting
    Voicemail 10
    Caller Id
    Visual Call Waiting
    All for $50/month
Added 6 gb data for 30 and voicemail 25 for 3
-Saved over 40 bucks compared to my prior iphone100 modded plan which only gave me 1100 minutes

For my wife, I asked to match Canada Wide 40, they offered
    35$
    250 minutes
    Nationwide 10 favourites
    6pm evening and weekends
    Unlimited texting
    Voicemail 3
    Call waiting
Added 1 gb of data for 20 (would have liked to have seen better on that one), vm 10 for 3 and caller id for 5

Saved 30 bucks compared to previous iphone plan.

I think that canada wide 50 match is awesome - I would have switched to Koodo had they not had any matches.d

Trade up to Samsung Note after next billing cycle.

Here is what i got for an iPhone 4S:

    $35/month plus tax
Unlimited local talk time (incoming & outgoing)
    Unlimited text (incoming & outgoing)
    Called ID
    VM
3 year plan, but I was only required to take 1 year.

$50 credit off iPhone 4S ($159 -$50) and no need to have a data plan. I didn't see the point since there is WiFi every where I go.

Does Telus have a deal in unlimited nationwide calling? Their best combo is unlimited local 35$ + unlimited long distance 20$ = 55 $ and it is too much.

How were you able to get a subsidized discount on the phone if you did not meet the required 50$ per month plan limit?

I was up for a renewal and they were offering me almost nothing, even when going through the loyalty department. They were offering me much less than what I had before, for much more per month. I complained to the executive office and after some negotiating, that is what I was offered.
