Hi I'm new! I've been working on this for a few days and used to have a typical Talk to Me 30 plan with a smart bundle, average bills were $60 to $70 per month total. This is my new plan with a 3 year renewal (I weaseled it half way through my contract like always):
Talk to me 30 (150 anytime + 100 bonus mins)
Unlimited incoming calls
Unlimited 6pm evenings and weekends (free)
100 LD minutes (Free)
Caller ID (free)
Voicemail 10 (free)
250 Text (free)
$15 Unlimited Data
Monthly total: $45+SAF/911+TAX
Signed a 3 year contract, plus $99 BB Curve ($150 but $50 credit on account)
client since November 2004
did I do good??? I've seen better but I figured not bad compared to what I used to have. I havent signed the deal yet and need to get my phone so tell me if I can do a lot better!

Ok I took over someones Connect 75 unlimited aircard plan last week.
I was able to get them to put on VPN access bundle for free. Or to be more specific they are giving me a recurring credit of $5/mo for that feature. (I guess I end up paying $0.25 for the GST portion which they are not automatically crediting)
I know it doesn't sound like much but there doesn't seem to be much they can do in the way of credits or freebies on a connect plan so getting anything is a bit of a win.
Only crappy part is a recurring service credit wouldn't be automatically transferable if I wanted to get rid of the contract at some point.
I was surprised to get anything, I know recurring account credits are a rare beast at Telus.

We think everyone should be able to afford a wireless phone. That's why we were the first wireless company in North America to offer pay-by-the-second airtime, and why we don't charge an activation fee. NO scary contract to sign. Immediate national coverage. And a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Yes, it's finally time to get a wireless phone.

I called in today to get a tethering/aircard solution for my business. I was going to sign up with Rogers to get that 6 GB plan for $30, because you can tether with that plan provided you use the device you got with it.
So I talked to my friendly neighbourhood L&R rep, and managed to get this...

It's $10/GB overage and $3/GB US roaming. Not MB, that's no deal at all lol.
I edited my quote to reflect the correct price. Wish I could edit my posts for more than 2 hours...

Call 18772793100.
You need to tell them you want to give your 30 day notice that you are going to cancel your account. Tell them the reason is that you are paying too much and something like the full fido plan is what you are thinking of.
Then they will try to "save" your business. At this point their job will be to look at your past bills and the amount of usage you have and find a plan and set of features that will work the best for you at a price you would be willing to stick around for. Allow them to find a solution to your problem and like most people who have posted to these retention threads you will likely be happy with the result. From the sounds of it, you don't even need to do much homework. You are exactly the kind of client they are trained and ready to help with so call and let them do their jobs.
Edit: It will help you if you look at the other providers before calling to find out what competitive plans are available that would fill your needs. You can try this website: http://www.cellplanexpert.ca/ if you are willing to take some time to fill out all the questions. What helps is to look at your past history online at www.mytelusmobility.com when filling out the forms on that website so you can get a good idea of where your needs are. I think it would be cool if you could just download the bills from the mytelusmoblity site and upload them into the plan expert website to automate it.

I got my plan almost two months ago, but this is what I have. I've been a customer with Telus for 3.5 years, and this was the first time I negotiated contract features with them.
