My curent plan is the following:

    200 minutes
    5PM Evenings & Weekends
    Fave 5 Nationwide
    CID, VM10
    Unlimited Messaging
    500 MB Data
    for $47.76 plus tax

When I called in a second time to request any further discounts, the rep didn't even bother trying and stated that this was the best that could be done for my account. Her reason was because that was what the previous rep was able to come up with.

I have 15 months left in the contract.

I didn't ask for the break down in prices for the above plans, but do any of you think I have any chance of lowering the price?

I called in because I have been recently spending money on LD (calling numbers outside of the city while looking for work) and just barely going over my data the last few months.

I look forward to your responses. Thanks.
Try looking for a voice plan alone, depending what province you're in, and ask to add the loyalty 1gb for 20$. That's what I did. I have the Sask 25 plan, added the 20$ for 1gb and got the caller id for 5$ instead of 8$. But again if you only want to change your plan and not get a new phone, you don't necessarily have to reach that 50$/month minimum.

I don't understand why people are paying so much for their service. All I did was call retentions and said I want a better plan and kept doing it till I got to what I have I don't think it can get any better but I'll try.
    500 air
    5 gig data
    After 5 weekends free
    Unlimited txt
    Call dis/ message service
    My ten
    50$

I live in Ontario if that matters

I've been with telus for a year so far first as pay as you go then a three year contract. What I first did was call and said bell is offering a unlimited data for 50$ a month with all the same stuff I already had and wanted to pay my buy out to go to bell they have me what they said was the max of 6 gigs data for 58$ a month 200 air minutes. I accepted then I called back saying that the person said I only would pay 50$ so they said the best we can do is 5 gigs and 500 mins with after 6 free. I accepted. Then I called again complaining about the after six said I ha after 5 and they gave it to me and my ten as well for 56$ then I called again and said why am I paying 6$ for call display when I had that free and they dropped it. It was a lot of calling but it paid off you have to be patient but firm and you'll get it

I called in again today and was told that my account can not allow any further discounts on any of the plans.

I took the following and requested the exact breakdown:

    Voice and Flex Data 50+
    200 Anytime minutes
    5PM Evenings & Weekends
    Canada Fave10
Unlimited Messaging to Canada & US
Up to 1GB Data (tethering access included)
    - $50 (aka Sask 50)

    Caller ID
    - $8 less $3 discount

    Voicemail 10
    - $5 less $2 discount

    TOTAL: $58+tax

I tried to get them to include 100LD minutes in the plan, but they wouldn't budge. They said it would be $10 more, but at the same time, they said they could give me unlimited LD min on the plan for $68+tax.

I'll try your method, Rob, and call in after a month or two to request a further discount.

When u get your next bill you call back and say that you called a while back because bell or Rogers is offering a unlimited data and everything you have plus caller I'd for 50$ pass on the LD. Say I was told I was getting caller ID free and 5 gigs for 50$ otherwise you we're going to pay you cancellation fee and go to bell Rogers. Try it dont but snappy just be patient hope for a girl and say things like look Im tired of calling all the time having to repeat my story to multiple people I just rush I could find someone that can handle what they offer me and do it. If they don't bite oh well you're not going to get in trouble

Oh and when you call ask if it is possible to speak to james. Obviously they can't transfer you to James but tell them on January 7th you talked to a James and this is the agreement that we worked out with each other. I'm going to get a LD package sometime in feb or try to at least and complain about constant roaming cause I live near the border. Make sure you go over a routine before you call you don't want to get caught in a lie or it's all for nothing.

I really wouldn't go this route.
Telus takes very good notes when clients call them, this is very bad advice.

Being up front, and honest with exactly what you're looking for as well as being polite will go a lot further then making up stories.

    @Telus
    500 Daytime Minutes
    Evenings/Weekends 5PM-7AM
    Nationwide 10
    Unlimited Text
    5GB Data
    VM/CC/CID/CW
    $55/mo

Yes look how well it works out for everyone else on this forum with crappy plans. He has already been patient and honest and his plan is garbage. I'm not saying yell just be a little firm and polite at the same time.

Does L&R have an option to add Unlimited Canada-wide calling?

I recall hearing Bell has this as an option (not through L&R - through regular channels).

I am pretty sure Telus still has the $20 unlimited canada calling... Unless you are resigning I doubt they would give it to you for free

This is exactly what i am looking for, but i am still 9 months away from my contract ending. I would gladly sign on to another 3 year term if i had something this substantial. Judging by my length of term left, would this be possible?
