I have the htc s640, and I have already had to replace one because of battery life being poor, and now on the new one, it is a little better but still not satisfactory. Do you think it would be any good to call LnR about that?

    Hey,

I am currently on the EPP plan with free Call ID. I am trying to get something with unlimited incoming calls, text (doesn't have to be unlimited but something in the plan to cover outgoing/incoming messages) and LD minutes (again, don't need many, maybe 50-75). Is this possible? I called once, got a nice fellow but all he was willing to do was add the incoming calls, and remove the caller ID.

I have 9 months left on the contract.

how long have you been with telus?
I've been with telus since 2001 and I got a lot of the features you wanted.

If you've been with telus for a while, see if you can call in again and catch another rep who is willing to help you.

I've been with Telus for about 6 years now and my Dad (who's account I'm under) I believe has been with them for 10+ years. I'm currently month to month and I called L&R to see what they could offer me. After negotiating about their new student plan and such the rep told me about the following plan.

    $45/month
    450 anytime minutes
    My Fav 10
    Unlimited evenings/weekends starting at 5pm
    Free CID/VM

The rep said I didn't even have to go contract if I agreed to sign up for this plan. I must admit it's quite tempting. I would probably add a text-message feature (probably 5$ - 250) because I text a lot of people who might not necessarily be in my Fav 10.

How does this plan look and does anyone think I might be able to get something similar?

^.. Isnt that plan one of those plans offered to every student? The only thing is that you dont have to go on contract. I think you can manage to get them to add on extra text messages without a charge. Otherwise, your deal/plan doesnt seem to hot imo.

Youre right. Okay.. for 45$ a month.. why dont you try getting the SuperMax plan? That's also 45$ and I think that since youve been with them for so long that they might possibly give it to you.

Edit: You could even try and get something like WolfDV's plan..

    Talk 40 (350min + 350min bonus = 700min) : $40
    Unlimited Data : $15
    Corp National LD : $15
Free Unlt'd 5pm evening and weekends
    Free Unlt'd Txt
    Free Unlt'd Incoming
    Free Telus to Telus
Free VM25, Call Display, Call Forward, Call Conf.

    so $70 + SAF + Tax

Of course, if you dont want the Data & National LD, you could take those off.

i just called LnR and man have they gotten rude

i need to say that i was very polite and apologetic throughout the convo

i asked them to match what my sister who's been with them for 13 months has gotten in term of rate (42$ taxes in plan and unl data) and 100$ for a diamond
I tell her taht it's not fair that she's gotten 2 better offers from them within a year and i'm getting nothing and i've been with them for 5 years

she keeps on repeating that they are offering me a plan thats great and that they're giving me a value of over 1400$ which then i have to stop and remind her that even with the plan she was offering me i'd be paying them close to 2000$ over 3 years so there's not p[oint of throwing $$$ at me and the fact that my sisters plan is just as good as what she's offering me...

then she says no matter how long you've been with us it doesnt make a diff we give you the phone at the same rice...which then i have to stop and remind her again that that is oobviously not true cause me 5 years sister 13 mnth Telus customer and yet she's gotten so far 200$ of Telus hardware more than "any customer renewing would get"

and then she goes back to the plan...
she was very rude, very confrontational i'm at a loss

some reps (regardless of company) are just terrible. usually if u find the conversation is not going in the direction that u want, rather than argue and have notes applied to your account, just apologize, be polite, and say thanks for your time (and try someone else later to get the results you want)

    question??

ok so my question is i have gone through 4 swaps on my 8330 since this june. i called and told them i want to cancel my plan because i keep on having the same issues with each swap unit. dna trnsfr to client relations and they lady there which whom was very pleasant offered me the a discount if i renew on a new 3 year contract, but the 8330 is the best pda they have(my opinion) i bought the 8330 out right so im kinda like why cant they just offer me a brand new curve in box vs me signing a new contract? my friend had many issues with his pearl and after the fourth time they offered him a brand new one in box not a swap. why cant i get that? honestly why should i sign a new contract when they are offering me what they would give someone on a new activation. i have had many issues with telus and their phones that they offer. been through about 6 phones since january 07. any ideas on how i can get something that is worth wile for my suffering with telus vs this aquisition pricing that they give???

no because you have to swap it out like 3-4 times before they do something for you. i know i had the s640 and it was crap with the battery. as for lnr they pretty much will give you a renewal offer, they gave that to me but i was like hell no cus the curve is the only device they have that i like and why should i renew to get a new one when i just got mine in june and is under warrenty. oh well try ur like and see!
