unlimited calling with no zones is a Great Deal if its unlimited NA calling not just local its even a better deal you may pay a bit more up front but now you do not have to worry about airtime. I went with the Unlimited NA plan (Rogers) and I have not been happier with my calling plan.

Best deal available is retention data deals of $20 for 1GB or $30 for 6GB but you likely do not qualify as your base voice plan pricing is too low but it doesn't hurt to try. I think they want people to have a minimum voice plan price of $30 to get these data plans. You can also check on the self service web portal to see if your plan allows you to pick data add ons. You may be able to get the 100MB "Data Lite 10" feature put on yourself. If that feature is available you can try calling for the 1GB or 6GB versions and if they do not allow you to get those add the 100MB data lite feature yourself and try calling again and tell them you want to upgrade the data plan to the 1GB or 6GB version. If they ask where you heard about it say something like "Another rep told me, but I decided to start with the 100MB plan but now I changed my mind and want the 1GB/or 6GB version the other rep told me about"

Phone retention department. If they say no, try again a few times. Try not to raise a big fuss or do anything that would give the CSR incentive to make extensive notes on your account about the call if you can help it or further attempts will likely be certain to fail as they will always read the most recent call notes. (Though older notes get less attention if you need to push a poisonous comment further down the list you need to call about other matters that get noted on top until the poison note is far enough down that they will not bother to read that far) If you have an unhealthy fear of rejection this exercise may not boost your ego.

    Good luck.

We think everyone should be able to afford a wireless phone. That's why we were the first wireless company in North America to offer pay-by-the-second airtime, and why we don't charge an activation fee. NO scary contract to sign. Immediate national coverage. And a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Yes, it's finally time to get a wireless phone.

Looks like a $25 SK (MB?) voice plan with the $30 6 gig loyalty data. I tried to get TELUS to change me to that very same voice plan and they balked. I do have a lot of bonus features and was willing to give some of them up to get the plan but they weren't willing to budge. I don't know where you live, but it's an ok deal. You aren't getting a crazy deal, but a lot of HOFO members are starting to say that TELUS won't give them the loyalty data plans anymore so you should take it.

I had the option of the $20 1 gig and $30 6 gig a few months ago and I elected to take the 1 gig plan. I don't stream video or music via mobile data (I save it for WiFi) so I have no trouble staying under 1 gig. Your needs might be different.

    Hi all ...
What's my chance to get Telus to match the Rogers "Ontario Hospital Employee's" corporate plan my wife can get ?
    This is what Rogers offer:

    250 daytime local minutes
    250 incoming minutes
    6pm Eve/Wkend
    CID, Basic VM, CW,3-way call
    125 sent/unlimited receiving txts
    $0.10/min additional
    $0.10/min Can LD
    $0.15/min US LD

    Cost $17.42 + $2.58 Gov Recov fee

    Additional $30/6Gb data

    Works out to be $50+tax
I would love to get same from Telus, who I've been with since Clearnet days.
    I'm on MTM right now.

    Thanks for any info ...

Just called in L&R, ask them to match my wife's Rogers corporate and this is what I got from Telus:

    300 Mins
    6pm Eve/Wkends
    Unlimited Favourite 5 local
    CID, VM
    250 txts
    6 Gb data

    All for $55

Not exactly what the Rogers corporate plan is, but close enough so I don't need to leave Telus. Oh, this is for MTM
    What do you think ?

You can ask, Telus will say no.
Some of the features would only be possible on a Telus business account ($0.10 LD)
Some features do not have a Telus feature codes (125 Texts, 250 incoming minute)

If you need more minutes than what the employee plan offers you may find Telus can setup something for you with a better fit to your needs though the overusage rates on the employee plan basically mean that a larger voice usage bucket wouldn't mean much since the price would go up at roughly the same rate as your pay per use pricing ($0.10/min is roughly the going rate for 100-500 voice minute add ons). If you need huge minutes Telus may help you out with one of their unlimited plans.

A 1:1 match I think is not going to happen but if your needs are higher than what this plan offers you might find something Telus can do to tailor a plan with a higher price but with good value.

Is that Ontario hospital plan paid for by the employer or does it get activated on a separate billing account for the employee?

    Hi Que ...
I did call and Telus gave me something similar (300 mins, 6pm, CID ..etc) which is the Voice 25 plan, I think. I don't really use that many minutes per month anyway, so it really doesn't matter. What I want is to have the 6Gb data, no contract, and keep it in the neighbourhood of $50.

It came out to $55+tax, but good enough for me ... maybe in 6 months, I can ask if they can knock off the Fave5 and take $5 off my bill.

As for Rogers corporate plan, it is separate billing, activated by the employee, and totally in employee's name but you do need to provide proof you work at the hospital. Funny thing is you cannot call in and ask for this exact plan. It is offered only by the Rogers store near Sick Kids hospital (Toronto). From what they tell me, it appears there are other corporate rate also, and this is the one being offered by them.

My father has been with Telus for around one year, he gave me his Telus phone to use when I visited home in late December as he is not using it anymore. Will Telus give me a good deal if I call loyalty and retention?

Why would they give you a deal? Your not buying a phone, signing a contract, or have any brand loyalty built up.

So contract time is up and Im looking for some input on what to expect when I call them up.

    Here is my current plan:
    SuperTalk 15 +15$
    250 Daytime
    Eve and Weekends at 6pm
    ID, VM3, CW
    Messaging 2500 +10$
    Unlimited Web Browsing +0$

Right now Im paying about 35$ a month all in. Been with Telus for 6 years now, been on 2 year contracts all along.

Im looking to keep all the basics of my original plan, but add the 1gb L&R Data. Im planning on getting the Samsung Fascinate, and Ill be signing a 3 year. Should I try to get the 6gb L&R data? Im willing to pay a bit more, but would like to keep it under 50$ all in.

Do you guys think they will swap out the Unlimited web browsing for the 1gb data? Will they even let me keep my Supertalk 15?
    Thx

Well with Rogers, as long as you have been a customer for 3 months, they will offer some deals if you threaten to leave. Excuse me for my ignorance but does it not work that way with Telus?
