Having worked for a phone company (Bell Canada) before, I could also see Telus having a notice in-house to all reps not to allow this plan to be activated outside of SK anymore. Volume of calls asking for the plan may have gone up causing their team to check places like here? I still haven't tried myself yet.

I really want to upgrade from a bb to either an android or iPhone. i have about a year left on my plan, but whenever I call telus, they don't really offer anything special.

I would want everything I have right now plus at least 1 gb of data, and if possible keep within the $50 range. which is what my friends pay. but i can't seem to get that.

    Right now I have,
    unlimited after 6 and weekends
    caller id
    call waiting, conference call
voicemail 10 (cus they ****ed my plan before)
social media (want to upgrade to data)
    fav 5 numbers
and i pay $40 with taxes.

The stingy are getting stingier. I currently have the Unlimited Local 35$ + free CID and 2500 text. My contract is over in 1 month and I called in to see what they can do for me for another 1 year contract. As of right now they no longer offer any freebies on the unlimited plan so no more free CID or text, I have to pay 15$ to get in the Package 15.
So how much does the 35$ unlimited plan worth if I want to sell it? It is eligible to get any new phone on a 1,2 or 3 year contract + I can the 6 GB data @ 30$ or 1 GB @ 20 GB ?

    Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Bold 9900: Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9780; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.8+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.706 Mobile Safari/534.8+)

Yeah, they're really stingy with the $35 unlimited plan. Multiple reps tried to make me feel like they were doing me a favor by giving me that plan. Some people got Package 15 for free, but I tried many times and couldn't get it. All I could get was Package 15 for $10 and a $5 discount off of $100 LD minutes. I was still paying them $85/month before tax. Oh and they refused to let me have the $20/1GB plan with the $35 plan.

I finally just switched to a smaller plan because I didn't need unlimited anyway.

Wow, I would have walked and moved to another provider. OK, no more free stuff, but 1 GB @ 20$ is not free, they get your cash. For me the future doesn't look friendly with Telus anymore, think it is time for some Wind of change ....

Thinking of switching 3 rogers lines over to Telus. Is there any chance of being able to get this is I call into Telus and ask for it?

    Thanks.

i have recently had to renew my old CDMA plan that I had pretty much since 2007.

    This is what I had:

    250min $25
    6pm e/w loyalty
    Unlimited txt loyalty
    CID loyalty
    VM10 loyalty
    100LD min loyalty
    Unlimited data $15

    Total $25 Voice + $15 Data = $40

This is what I was able to get:

300min (I think) $25 (shows as "Voice 25 - Unltd msg" Maybe someone can confirm what this is?)
    6pm e/w
    Unlimited txt
    CID loyalty
    VM10 loyalty
    6GB $30 loyalty data

As they were not willing to keep 100LD min loyalty while giving loyalty data, I have added $3 north American minutes.

    So all in all $25 voice + $30 data + $3 features = $58

$18 dollars more but I am happy with the new phone and fast data speeds.

I was in a similar situation - I wanted to bring in 3 new subscribers. I have talked to both retentions and new activations (where L&R had sent me) but no luck. In fact I was upset about CSR trying to upset and change the plan configuration even though I knew exactly what I am looking for.

My 3 yr plan ends May 31. Cud you comments on (1) What you think of the plan I have now as shown below, (2) What else I could/should ask for, and (3) What happens if I don't signup for another plan?

    TIA - R.

    - International data roaming = No charge
    - Nationwide 20 = $30 (free unlimited Canadian long distance)
    - International voice roaming = No charge
    - 350 Bonus Minites = No charge
    - Free Incoming = $10

    Thinking About Switching

I've been with Telus for a few years, on the old Student 55 plan, think Telus will match Winds $40+ tax price?

Just got "Business Ultra Combo 85" for $85/month :
    - 1500 anytime minutes
    - 6GB data
    - Unlimited local Telus-Telus
    - Unlimited local incoming
    - Unlimited long distance Canada/US and Canada/Canada
    - Unlimited evenings 6PM/7AM
    - Unlimited text/pic/video in Canada
    - Voicemail 10, Caller ID, Call Waiting, Conference Calling

I didn't have to renew, I'm not a new subscriber, and they waived the requirement to have 2 phones on the same account.

Thanks to newfie77 for pointing me to this!

So I used to have a Blackberry, but it's broken, and I wanted to upgrade to an iPhone. My plan is currently about $50/month, and I've been with Telus for at least 5 years (my parents were on Telus before, but they left for Rogers). Unfortunately I do still have 10 months left on my contract.

I'm wondering if it's possible to sign up for a 3 year contract and get the iPhone 4S, as well as negotiate a plan with retentions seeing as I've been with Telus for quite some time, or if it's just impossible. $50 for 100 MB data, 200 min, etc., is definitely not going to be enough or worth it for such an expensive plan.

If you want to have a slight chance of success then at first don't mention anything about the iPhone or any phone whatsoever. Just tell them you are not happy about what you getting, that it doesn't suit your needs and start to work on a better plan. with retentions. Then only after you are happy about the deal mention that since you are sign a new contract you might as well get a new phone. If you say iPhone at the beginning of the negotiations then you will get a crappy deal; they know you want the iPhone and won't offer you much over what you have right now.

Drielle. I called retrntions and got 500 air time minutes. After 5 and weekends free. 5 gig data. Unlimited text. Call display voice mail. Fab 10 for my iPhone 4. And I only pay 50$ + tax a month and I was only with then for 1 year. You just need to be lucky and get that 1 person that cares about people. Good luck

Rob - Did you have the iPhone 4 for a year before they offered you the plan? It's really awesome!

I gave it a go today and tried calling to retentions and I'm awful at negotiating, haha. I think he offered me an even worse deal than the promotional plans. 5 favorite numbers, 500 MB of data, unlimited text, CID, VM, 200 minutes for $60. Half the data and half the favorite numbers for 5 bucks less.
