I hope this is an isolated incident and another rep will grandfather you in. I've worked hard to get what I've got now and would love to keep it.

I've been with Telus since back in the ClearNet days. Because of this, I've been able to grandfather a decent package with lots of freebees:

I have 16 months left in my contract and calling because I'm interested in getting renewing my contract for 3 more years to get the Samsung SIII.
Before I was even done saying that I wanted the phone, the agent told me "just to let you know, Telus is really tightining their belt on grandfathering freebies so if you're looking to renew the same package they probably wont..".
And true enough, when she transferred me to Retention they said No and that the most they can do is set me with one of my current plans and give me free caller ID.
.. Wtf.
I was able to renew this same contract (with slight changes) every couple of year atleasty 4-5 times.. What's changed recently? Is it just a bad agent that I got or am I asking for too much?
Times have changed? I'm not used to Telus telling me no when I'm looking to renew or when I threaten to Cancel. Should I try when my 16 months are up and I say I wish to cancel my account?

Telus has been stingy for a couple years now.
I used to have the Super Talk 10 and the reps would basically act like in stealing from them because of the plan I was on, I didn't even have any freebies either...
I think it has to do with the rep. Some reps will give you $20 worth of freebies with not a lot of negotiation. I just got offered the Student 50 with CID and VM25 even though in previous posts subscribers were told that this plan does not exist anymore.

Renewed contract June, 2012:
Telus Student 50 - 2 Lines: $50 +tax - 500 anytime, eve/wknds @ 5PM, CID, VM25, 5GB data, unlmtd text, FAV10 nationwide
It's not unlimited data. Just 5GB. The Student 50 will be my next plan. It hasn't been activated yet until I receive the Galaxy S3.
The details of the plan is similar to this post but with no LD and I have VM25. And it's $50 not $60.

Well.. No go for me... The person even when telling her the plan name couldn't fine it.
I guess I'm stuck on their offer of Sask Voice&Data60, which is pretty much the same but include the VM (in the plan, you got it added free), which is 10$ more....
However I am getting this offer for two lines, which one of them is new.
