Question: Does Telus still add crazy network access fee etc ? Or would a plan be the plan price + e911, + tax ?
I assume this plan is not limited to a particular province, correct?
Also I had a few questions...
Is there any chance I can get a smartphone(s3 or htc 1S) on 3 year pricing if my plan is under 50$ before tax?
Also is this $50/month requirement for 3 year pricing after any discounts are applied, or before? For example could the CSR have my plan be $55/month and apply a discount to it so its actually less than that at the end of the day, but it would still allow me to take advantage of the 3 year pricing since my plan is a $55/month plan?
Does retention & loyalty have the authority to wave this requirement?
Been a customer for 8 years now...currently on a retentions voice plan(no data)
Thinking about getting the loyalty 1gb add on for $20
If not anyone know the pricing of the phones on a 3 year term if your plan does not meet the $ 50/month requirement???
Finally does telus have hardware upgrade credits like bell? Does a dollar amount add up that you can use towards a new device??
thanks
Correct. They can pull any plan from any province and offer it to a current subscriber.
No. $50 or more is required. That's one of the first things they mention. Also I had a few questions...

I'm not aware of such a contract. Usually it's a higher-priced contract (e.g. $65 plan) and they would offer it to you for $50. But nothing lower than $50 as far as I know. Also is this $50/month requirement for 3 year pricing after any discounts are applied, or before? I don't think so.Does retention & loyalty have the authority to wave this requirement?
You can call Telus Care and ask. I think the Galaxy S3 is around $649 for the 16GB.Been a customer for 8 years now...currently on a retentions voice plan(no data)

If you're buying the phone outright, the key will be getting a decent base plan. Freebies often expire after the 3-year contract. So if you have a decent base plan, none of the features expire and you can change the phone whenever you want.
Yes. They just implemented that recently. I think if you're within the last 6 months of your contract, you are eligible for the 3-year pricing. Finally does telus have hardware upgrade credits like bell? Does a dollar amount add up that you can use towards a new device??

Thank You for the prompt and detailed response
I have 2 months remaining on my contract will I be eligible for 3 year pricing on a phone even if my plan does not meet the $50/month requirement? (Damn $50 requirement LOL)
Also the plan I currently have has freebies that expire in 3 years...
therefore i think i should renegotiate a completely different plan and have a solid base to work off of, rather than just get the data add on
edit* I dont see how the offers they are giving me on the website are any different than what a regular customer can get? When I login to mytelusmobility...it says you are eligible for a new phone...the offers on the new phones it shows are exactly the same any joe walking off the street can get...
For example: Galaxy Nexus offered: Full price $649.99
Discount -$600.00
Early device upgrade Fee +$10.00
Loyalty upgrade credit -$10.00
You pay $49.99 *
on a 3 year term
Its the same on the telus site for new customers
$50 is the absolute minimum to get 3-year pricing.
Most of the plans now include data.
The offers on the phones are almost always the same for new and current subscribers unless you negotiated a $$ off the phone during your conversation with retentions. It's in the monthly plan where there's a difference.
If I'm a new subscriber and I will pre-oder a Galaxy S3, the only plan I have access to will be the Promo Voice and Data 65. If you called retentions, they have access to plans that's not on the website and are not accessible to new customers.
Took 3 call to get Sask 60, First call I got Sask 55, second call I got Sask 55 but for 50$, third call I got Sask 60 but for two line (my current pay&talk 12yr old @sec billing) and also a new line activation (which apparently they don't usually do deal one)..
I negociated mostly by saying I was willing to leave pay&talk because of the recent change to the data 20 option, and that I would have two line. I called like 2 other time to get the Student 50, but they sounded like I already had an excellent deal and that I was making them loose their time, and decliend offering the Student 50.
500 minutes/5GB of data.
I called last week L&R to ask what they could offer me better than what I had if I renew for 3 years. The answer:
"Your plan, at 63$ contains everything that the current promotion at 65$ offers, so we cannot do anything more." I then told him about the Sask55+ plan, and he switched me to it.
Then I read about the Sask 60, so next day I called, talked to a different rep, and ask to change to that one instead. Was told that she would make an exception for me because I have been with Telus/Clearnet for more than 10 years, but that usually they do not offer plan from other provinces, and that I was already lucky I had gotten the 55+ plan the day before...
Anyway, now I'm on the Sask 60 plan, and I will try to pickup a GS3 somewhere tomorrow.
