    Hello everyone

My girlfriend has an old Shine Plus with Telus. But since a few weeks, she has trouble with her phone and she would love to change for an iPhone.

The thing is, she still has 15 months to go with her contract with a balance of 137,80 and she would like to pay the less possible for her new phone (with, if possible, the cheapest data plan available)

She has been with Telus for the last 9 years easily so when she calls CS and retention, she can always push it down as loyalty. Any other tip to get what she wants?

    Thanks in advance

Going from a basic phone to a smartphone with data plan usually means you end up paying Telus more every month so they are more willing to waive any early upgrade costs if it means increased revenue for them.

So yes, call loyalty. But always remember that the hardware and renewal cost is but a fraction of your long term plan costs so try to get the best possible plan at the lowest price first before you even bother to work on lowering the cost of a renewal fee. Paying extra fees on top of the plan for things like voicemail, call display, text messaging, long distance, and frequent overusage are things where Loyalty can help you out with free versions of these things. The cost of those things over a 3 year term can be far more than the small amount you pay for the early renewal. If you can get the extra cost items for free plus the early renewal fee waived then even better but if it is one thing or the other then go for the long term savings over the short term up front costs.

We think everyone should be able to afford a wireless phone. That's why we were the first wireless company in North America to offer pay-by-the-second airtime, and why we don't charge an activation fee. NO scary contract to sign. Immediate national coverage. And a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Yes, it's finally time to get a wireless phone.

He says theres no way I can get more data for less than what I'm paying - I was ready to go with the 6GB data plan for 60$ but I asked to include natonwide calling because calling my HOMEPHONE when I'm 20mins away in the town where I work it's considered long distance - yet when I call at home from work it isn't. Plus when I'm 10mins away from home it's no longer considered long distance. His response is that they can't tweak plans, they are made like that.... I briefly mentioned Student 50plan he says it doesn't exist... it's been expired for 6months now... blahhhh I want that plan. Any gal wanna give them a call for me? I'm very unlucky loll

see they won't budge with me. I would like that plan plus the fav10 since my housephone is long distance and as a response I got "we can't modify/tweak plans, they come as they are". TOTAL BS. Where do you live and when did you get that deal?

    Okay,

I've been playing a bit of a cat and mouse game with retentions for the last month and a half. I was originally offered SASK55 without much digging and have been able to get STUDENT50 on my most recent call. The rep I just spoke with was very helpful and initially only found the less rich STUDENT plan but was able to locate the richer one after describing a few things. Apparently CID is *NOT* part of the package and normally they charge $8/month for it. He said he could charge $5/month instead but this was as good as it could get for me. Should I just accept the $55/month or should I try and get the CID included?

I also have access to the TeamWebStore through an ex-coworker as his wife is employed by Telus. I asked about going that route for the phone and was told, after being placed on hold, that if I go through the TeamWebStore that I have to go with an in-market plan only and that they cannot apply a retention plan to the new account. I questioned this but he said the rules changed on June 4th. Is there a way around this? It also get a little more complex as I'm looking at Porting back from Mobilicity.

I've given this some thought and have considered doing this but am not sure if this will work: Currently, I have a plan on a crap phone (not data capable) that was assigned to a family member. I was thinking that I could "bring my own device" (the One S), get a V3 Micro SIM for $10, move to the new plan and activate the Micro SIM on my existing One S, port my number into the account and then order a phone from the TeamWebStore as I'm not on a contract (currently month-to-month) as an upgrade. Would that work?

Any help in making this happen is greatly appreciated. If someone prefers to PM over a public reply, I'm cool with that as well.

I live in Vancouver and got the deal on July 25,2012. I had actually called in a week before then and the rep at that time put it on my account, called in on the 25th just to activate it. Then ordered the S3 from the teamwebstore on the 26th.

Also the plan I got is actually called the Voice25=$25 Plan with the Loyalty 6GB=$30, they added CID for free and 100extra minutes.

    So in total I have:
    300 anytime minutes
    6pm evening and weekends
    Unlimited text,pic,video messaging
Conference calling, CID, VM3, Call waiting
    6gb of data
    $55+tax

    Hi,

I was offered two plans by telus today based on my needs; however, both are outside of my price point, so I want to get some advice on if these are good deals.

$75 plan includes unlimited local calling and canada-wide calling, 1gb, CID/Voice, texting etc.
    $60 plan includes 500 minutes, fav 10, cid/vm, 5gb, 5pm e/w, unlimited text.

Frankly, koodo offers for $50 unlimited canada-wide calling, so I was trying to get telus to match that, but they wouldn't budge.

Bell is offering unlimited CDN long distance to people in BC and AB if you go with a 3 year contract on any of its plans (inluding the Fab 10 promotional plans). So the people on the 6GB plan is also eligible. Do you think telus will match this if I go on a 3 year? (I am still waiting for the note 2 ... I hope it comes before bell closes this promo)

Lastly, how hard is it to score the 85 small biz plan with unlimited NA LD and 6GB data?

I know! I pushed the guy nicely, but said that Koodo operates on a different level than Telus, so they can't simply copy their plans (something about different codes for services, etc.)

What's the likely hood of me getting a plan that has 6 gb of data for the price I pay now. I have the old promo 55 from Saskatchewan and find that the extra gig of data would help. Currently have to watch my data since I get close to 5gb every month? Anyone with some insight for me? I use to have the old 65 plan with 6gb but didn't have enough minutes or my fav 10 included.

Agghh, I have been back and forth with telus all week, they keep telling me there is no unlimited local plans right now, did you get a reference number? Maybe a rep extension I can can specifically talk to? Please? thx

I currently have the $85 extreme rate plan on hold, interestingly enough till Sept 12. They are also giving me a $800 port in credit if I switch my 2 numbers from rogers. Funny, I just read the details..... available offer now till Sept 30

Honestly its a great plan but I want this with telus or better with unlimited local calling and for the last week they have been saying we cant match that.
The bell link is here: http://mobilebusiness.bell.ca/extreme-business-plan/ but you have to access it under either AB or BC province selection.

My rep has offered me some more stuff thats not on the list either:

§ Unlimited Text messaging (Canada to Canada and Canada to US)
    § Call Display
§ Voicemail (Business Size for 25 message) I'm upping to visual vm for $5 per month more
    § Call Waiting
    § Conference Calling

To qualify, late Friday night my rep asked me for a business GST number. Thankfully I had one, or no go apparently.
