T-Mobile USA will give you the code for free. T-Mobile UK will charge a fee. Remeber there are two kinds of 6030 - one intended for North America with 850/1900 MHz frequencies and another intended for Europe/Asia with 900/1800 MHz frequencies. Make sure you have the right one for where you intend to use it.

Yahh .. I see Bahamas are 1900 MHz GSM and therefore a US dual-band phone would be usefull. Other people have e-mailed T-Mobile for the code but I have not been able to do that. I call customer service ...

If your T-Mobile account is not current, you'll have to buy some airtime.

Maybe you should "unbrand" your phone, too.

    Hmmm...
    1. Cassandra and I are buddies.
    2. You need a cell phone repair shop with the correct hardware. Maybe you can find one in the Bahamas.
    3. I don't think so.

Your 6030 will still work with T-Mobile, though.

there are two variants of the nokia 6030b. there's the rm-75 and the rm-225. the rm-75 can be unlocked using dct4 generated codes. the rm-225 is unlocked via a code obtained from your network operator, or by flashing a patched mcu file to the phone.

I called T Mo Cust Service saturday requesting the unlock code for my 6030. I received an email this morning (monday) with instructions. It took less than 1 minute to complete the unlock.
