I haven't seen this many people interested in a branded Samsung release in a long time!

Yep...the infrastructure's been in testing for at least 10 weeks now, that I know of. Probably even longer than that, to be honest. As for us "normies," it's not set to go live until late September.Originally Posted by shady104
I assure you, though, if you find a network engineer for T-Mobile, he's carrying around a 3G phone that's running on 3G. They're the ones testing all the connections to and from the switches, currently.

Any evidence of GPS? I know the Tocco on which its based does not, but I think Tmonews mentioned it as a possibility.
Well, there hasn't been one to be interested in...Originally Posted by TeeJay3800
Well yeah, that be why. Maybe this is a sign of things to come from Samsung.Originally Posted by JeromeInDaHouse
Any word on if Java apps work on this phone?
Someone said they got opera mini to run on this phone. T-mobile will most likely block them though i bet.Originally Posted by TeeJay3800
Block you say?????? What's the definition of open????????Originally Posted by Antenna
You may need to unbrand or flash the phone to have all orginal functions that t-mobile may have removed.Originally Posted by mmeyer4663
Using the firmware for what? There is no unbranded version of this phone, and likely never will be.Originally Posted by Antenna
The closet model would be the SE z780, but that has a different radio setup, so at the very least you risk losing 3G functionality, or worse...
Yes, Opera Mini does work, but who knows about T-Mobile branded ones.Originally Posted by Antenna
