There is a certain problem i keep on running into when attempting to do a conference call on the iphone. Most times, it works perfectly and i have been able to have up to 5 person conversations but this problem has now happened about a dozen times in the past 3 months and its really annoying. When attempting to bring a 3rd person into an existing 2 person conversation, after dialing that 3rd number and hitting the call icon, the iphone immediately lights up the "hold" icon and the 3rd party is never dialed. Instead it automatically puts my 2 person conversation on hold. When this happens, i either have to restart the phone or try again later after that conversation has been terminated. Has anyone else experienced this "bug"? I am not sure if its a phone or network problem. I am on a 2G iphone running 1.1.4 on T-Mo.
It's likely a network issue. Either not enough backhaul trunks are available, or that particular cell site may not be configured to allow conference calling.
