make sure you format the sd card in your phone, that way the phone will create the necessary folders for you to transfer/save pictures, mp3s, etc

The R450 is not set to take a 4 Gig Card.. Only a 2Gig

Dont see why you'll need it for this phone..
Maybe the drive if you run into that problem..
But its easy to pick and drop stuff right to the phone.. (with the MicroSD in and formated.)
If you need more on that just get the hacker manual and it has a link to the driver and some info about that in the first few pages..

Also, I want to use my phone as an mp3 player. I have about 11gb of music on my computer, so 4gb on my phone is just enough to satisfy me.

As it turns out, they actually put an 8gb card in it too. And the very last post says that it plays music from a 4gb card just fine, so I'll have to see for myself, even if I'd be risking it a bit. I was just hoping that someone would confirm this, but I guess I don't need anyone to.

Well, I was right, for the most part. The thing plays music just fine, but only if I put in less than 2gb or so of music, I think. The phone freezes otherwise. Either way, I got it at a discount for the same price as the 2gb card, so I guess it doesn't make any difference. If I decide to use the thing for some other purpose, I have 4gb to do it with. Decent deal, I guess.

About the card; It recognizes and is doing fine with my 4GB card, but I have over 300 songs on there and it's still only taking up half a gig.... Also, it freezes up if I put anywhere near that many songs in the ringtones folder, but I think that the media player will be fine for a larger card...

The phone was never setup to take more then a 1 gig card.
I have no clue to why they said 2 gigs, the phone cant support the needed list in its memory.
So as you will find out it will freeze up and as the memory fills to capacity then errors and the system stops. Reboot the phone.. Nice..
Adding a 8 gig.. If your going to toss your money our you can always send it to me.
Samsung reported that the phone will only hold safely a 2 gig sd card / sdhc..
Laugh.. I would recommend to stay with the 2 gig and forgo the 4 or even 8 gig sdhc..
The memory is lacking big time..
Over all guys keep your money in your pocket, and save up for a good phone.

One more thing..... One of you with MetroPCS, could you download the free IM app and copy the folder (with QPST; right click on the folder and click "copy from phone" or "save to comp" or something like that) and zip it and post it.... somewhere? You would also need to copy the information from it from the config.txt right in the /brew/mod/ directory and post that too..... And if that messes up my phone, I have a backup, again from QPST... So ya.... Thanks!
