Ok this driver worked for me when you go into the device manager, update all your unkown samsung devices' drivers, you should have a composite device, cdma modem, and diagnostic ports. The driver has three folders so just update the drivers and have them look into the folders until you get the right one for each device. I am not 100% of the device names for each one as I am not on windows right now. Oh this driver was stripped from another cdma samsung phone but it works fine as it's pretty generic.
Goto menu > Settings > # > 587846 > Port Map
DM (DIAG) > USB
DS (DATA > USB
HFK/FTC > NULL
Plug your phone in, make sure it's on. Now your phone should come up on a COM port. Bitpim will see a Samsung on a port. But I still have not gotten BitPim to cooperate with the phone. The only software that I can access with is Qualcomm's QPST. Do a google for "qpst download" and install it. Run QPST config and it should detect your phone. I recommend you remove the sd card as it might want to play mass storage device rather than a phone.
You need your subsidy unlock code to use QPST Get your 18 Digit MEID DEC value from: Menu > Settings > Phone Info > MEID or (menu> 9 > 7 > 4). You need the dec one.
Input it into ( http://www.howardforums.com/forum/at...1&d=1207562068 ) this program to convert it to a pseudo-esn (pESN).</a> You'll need a registration for mobile-files.com. Also if you try to run the program and it errors, you probably need the .NET runtime. Yes you need a 300 MB runtime to run this converter. You should get an 11 digit pESN.
For Metropcs users get the subsidy unlock code by inputting your 11 digit pESN into a calculator, there are a few here, but the one I used is http://www.howardforums.com/forum/at...5&d=1207349489 (mobile-files.com again).
You should get a 6 digit unlock code from this. Write it down. I put it in my R450's memo app, and on the back of the manual. You can now access the r450 using the QPST tools. I have only had about an hour before work to play with it and I just got off work and started writing this post so I don't know much can be done yet. And now with that code you can you can go to Menu > Settings > * > 6 digit code. You can full access to Nam programming and many other options. This also means your phone is fully unlocked and you can use it on another network.
Keep us updated. I'd like to know myself what can be brought of this. But I'm going to sleep now.
EDIT: All my links that refer to mobile-files dot com redirect to howardforums.com. Strange. both programs are on page 2 of:
Not to be a pain in the butt... all the links you put up are not working. The top one has so many other links who know what one I should click on... just a links right to the download file and not some page. I clicked on all sorta stuff and its a lot of adds way easy to get lost. maybe the links will work later but it looks like they took the pages out.
Whoops! Looks like you're looking for a page that doesn't exist. You will be forwarded to the home page in 5 seconds or click here to go there now
Here is the MetroPCS pESN to SPC calculator. It is an .xls file which means you need Microsoft Excel or Openoffice.org calc(not sure if it's compatible). You enter the number in the cell and hit return to get your six digit spc.
What really need to be done is have Bitpim support entry of the SEC code so we can have a useful program to use with th r450m, instead of just timing out.
Also, does anyone know how to load java on to BREW phone? Even just basic priciple of that conversion?
I keep getting asked so I'll say it again guys.. I have no clue where the GAMES are or where on the phone games are kept.
I will keep trying things, until something happens.
I paid for a game so I can find that area, but with no luck.
Ok I just upgraded from the $40 plan to the $45 plan. About four days ago, I have yet to recieve picture messaging capabilities nor web access. Now I have played around with some settings but nothing that would have crippled it, in my opinion. It's not broken, else everything else would be broken. I was in the metropcs store for an hour and half with the guy trying to get the people at metropcs hq to find the problem. They got my GF's phone running metroweb running again because it stopped working a few days ago. They took her out of the system, put her back in refreshed the account, and metroweb worked fine. Now metroweb has never worked on my phone. We did a master reset, and it should have wiped any metroweb settings or networks settings that I may have screwed with, clean. No luck. I plan on finding someone with an identical phone around here and comparing the settings, but I'm sure they're fine. My next resort is to call MetroPCS customer service, file a trouble ticket. Call Samsung go through their troubleshooting. And lastly take it to a corporate store which is two hours away from where I am.
Any suggestions? Anybody wanna share a working r450 flash file with working web? What could I try?
check your settings... this was most of my settings that work with metroweb.

I did that. I compared my settings to another r450 owner as well. I do not, in your list, understand:
~Primary DNS IP
78
~Secondary DNS IP
2305
In my settings these ips must be a 4 octet numeral such as 192.168.12.1 default is 0.0.0.0. If I try to input 78 it'll come up like 0.0.0.78. Which is an impossible ip. Please clarify.
I've tried these config for my u740 and i"m having no luck, is there an additional step for the u740?

The MicroSD has a max 2gig. The MicroSC card has to be in the phone and formatted to works with the USB hookup. If asked for the new hardware just cancel out and open Exsplore and goto the drive letter thats new or download that CDMA driver I named above.
Get the MicroSD in and have the phone format your card. When its done just pull out that MicroSD and plug it into your computer and put the files "INTO" the files as they are named.
