Here's a big problem with the Shadow that I need to solve. If I can't solve it, this phone is going back to the store this Wednesday.

The phone has set a timezone of "GMT+1 Prague-Budapest". So I go to Settings, Clock and Alarm, and change the Timezone to "GMT-4 Caracas-La Paz", manually set the correct time and finally set the Automatic Time Update to "Disabled". This should be enough to solve the problem, but it isn't. Every time I power cycle the phone, it reverts to the same incorrect time zone, and sets the auto update to Enabled. The time remains correct, but changing the time zone causes all of my Calendar appointments to be messed up. I've been using Windows Mobile Smartphones and Pocket PC's for years and the Shadow is the only one that has done this.

Is there a way to stop the madness? If I have to return the Shadow to the store, I'll have to get a BlackBerry because there are no other WM smartphones to choose from (i.e. T-Mobile PR is not carrying the Dash or the Wing, though I wouldn't want the Wing even for free.)
