Can we get a list of all the people here on hofo who are, indeed, VMC employees, and maybe a bit about where you work or something like that?

To start, I'm a "mobile specialist" working at VMS 863, sole kiosk for VMC in Saskatchewan
I do not speak on behalf of my employer. My thoughts are my own.

Does it pay well? Do you need to study a lot to become a "mobile specialist" ?

Yes it does pay well. Basically if you know your products and believe in the brand, you shouldn't have a problem. I love my job.

This is Virgin Mobil 806 Cataraqui in Kingston Ontario. It's the stores account so there are 4 employees who use it.

It's not the bottom line that counts it's the moral one. Which side do you stand on?

What kind of work do you do at the kiosk? And also, do you know what the required age is to work there?

    I may be interested.

I think exact hiring processes are up to the operators of each MiniStore. Saskatchewan has a bit of a labour shortage at the moment, so we might be a bit lower then some other places. While I'm certainly not sure what exactly is required here, it seems like it's something like:

    Good interview
    Grade 12/GED
    Good interview
    Clean police record
A bit of a technology or customer service background
    Good interview

Your best bet is to ask the people at the MiniStore you're thinking of applying at what sort of background and qualifications they have. We're nice people, and we like to help. Nor do we bite (often :P)

    I'm only 16 years old...
What do you mean by GRADE 12 / GED ?
I think here in Quebec city it's not like that.

Probably not the same at all. Basically, I was refering to being done secondary school (which, here, is finishing grade 12, or getting your GED (graduate equivelent degree?)). To be honest, I can't see why you'd really need that, tho - it's not a hugely demanding job. If you've got the interest and such to be here on HoFo, you're probably in good shape as far as qualifications go. As I said, tho, I believe hiring policies are determied locally by the operator of the kiosk, and not nationally by VMC, so it could be radically different there.

I can't see age being an issue, as long as you are old enough to be legally employed and are otherwise a suitable employee. Again, tho, probably determined locally, so YMMV.

FYI, I think there's usually just one operator per city (or maybe even larger area?).
