And I said "sorry, the iPhone doesn't come in red". And she wanted to know when we would get it in stock and I told her Apple doesn't make a red one. Well now she's pissed saying Virgin needs to get their act together and stuff and I assured her that Apple doesn't make a red iPhone. So she told me she's going to Telus to get a red iPhone. I told her to come and show it to me on her way out of the mall lol. Let's see how this plays out.
Ignorance is bliss. Keep us posted on if she comes back.

I had a customer today who had his Blackberry flip stolen 3 weeks into his contract. I told him he had to buy out a new BB or buy a dumbphone and take the $250 hit for being in the first year of a BB without a bundle. He of course got upset and angry and swore at me and of course he says, "But I left Telus for you guys and now..." and of course he starts making up all this crap about how we suck now. "The lady told me to go with this package so I wouldn't go out of minutes and all I wanted was the $35 plan and...."
I told him that no one will cover theft, no one. Not without an extra warrenty package (and those still cost you $7+ a month and $100-250 or more for a smart phone replacement).

Really people. We won't just give you a new phone because you lost yours or your broke yours. You need to pay for it someone and the $0 for the 3years doesn't cut it for payment.

Lol I love people with lost phones who want new ones for free. This guy came and gave me this huge story about how horrible his life has been lately and then he lost his phone. Like this story was ten minutes long and included every horrible thing you could think of short of him telling me all his limbs had been sawed off by a crack head with a lot of time and a butter knife. I can't confirm if his heart wrenching story was true or not (probably not) but unfortunately his compelling story of lost love and medical situations doesn't mean I can hand out free phones willy nilly. But... He could go write a book and take the money he makes from writing it to purchase a new phone.
Another insightful and thought provoking post...

Calling out people's bluffs are fun too.

"Screw these prices I'm going to Telus!"
    "ok... Have fun there"
"....Well.... Ugh but I hate Telus"

P.S. Lady that wanted a red iPhone never came back.

I don't want to perpetuate any stereotypes about Calgary but I have to say the hillbillies are the hardest to sell to. Everyone wants a deal but the hillbillies take a very aggressive stance with you. Listen boy, I hate contracts, so how much is it for this phone full price? Jesus Christ! 50 bucks?! And how much is the plan with unlimited texting? 25 bucks?! Holy **** boy, you might as well bend me over right here! I'm saving for a double wide, I can't afford this ****!

...Well sir, perhaps smoke signals and snail mail are more suited to your communication needs.

I get a ton of hillbillies/hicks in my town. They are easy to sell to. Usually it's "do you need a credit card for a phone?"
"No but I need this and this for id for a contract and prepaid you don't need a credit card."
So they end up wasting my time trying for a contract when they know they don't have any credit or money for a deposit.
The best I find is when they ask what id they need and I saw government issued photo and credit or sin card. So they spout of their sin number completely ignoring that I asked for the card. So I tell them to show me the card and they fight and argue over it and eventually swear and yell and then leave.

    LoL at the hillbillies stories
BTW, since I haven't time to come online recently, I DO want to clarify (since I posted there myself) about pretending to be the customer.
Yes I do that, IF the customer has been waiting for 30min to get on the phone with CS and then asks to leave for 10min to grab something to eat and during that time I get CS asking me for the customer's info. That info of course I have since the customer gave it to me, name, pin, photo id, etc.

Now if you think that's fraud, then fine. It's not. To make it fraud, we need to do something without the customer's knowledge and consent. And I need to be accused by the customer.

If i do this, then nothing in particular happens (in the situation above).
If i wouldn't do this, the customer gets a bitter taste about the efficiency of our customer service, likely asking himself why did he/she ever choose Virgin.

    That being said,
people asking for free phones on prepaid are awesome.
Awesome are also people who complain they put 50$ in a month when in fact their plan should've been about 20$. Obviously they didn't refill before the due date and we try to explain them that, but still the curses are unavoidable.
Prepaid is to contract like a mistress is to a wife. No wonder so many people don't want contracts

I don't know if anyone has noticed but the computers are totally unlocked now. I'm not saying this to promote anyone abusing this priviledge, because I'm sure it will be taken away just as quickly. I'm just happy that now I can get onto canada post to look up a postal code or occaisionally use google to answer a question quickly.
