ok... i used to be able to send wallpapers to my 6100 w/ no trouble at all(through Nokia PC Suite 5.1).... but when i tried installing app(through PC Suite app installer) it said that it couldn't connect to my phone.
so i decided to changed some settings... mainly the speed in the network setting
after i changed it, now i can't even use it to send wallpaper..... the image converter now is saying that it can't connect to my 6100 either!!
anyone has any idea of what is wrong????
i tried trace back all the changes i made, restore the registry file and the settings but nothing works...
i know it's not the hardware cuz the MA-620 can still connect to my 3650 w/ PC Suite for 3650....
i did the search here and tried everything.... facing my phone keypad down, lower the speed to 9600... try updating the driver(and there's none).... uninstall and re-install my PC Suite 5.1, 2 times....
can anyone help me???.... the phone is connected to the computer (IrDA icon is on my taskbar and PC Suite knows that the phone is connected (all options, such as upload, are click-able) but when i try sending the file to phone, it says error that the connection fails
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." --Edmund Burke (1729–1797), Irish philosopher.
and also, for MA-620 users..... when the phone is connected...if u go into the Device Manager, under infrared--does it say your phone model??? or is it just "Smart Phone" with question mark icon??
i clicked on that one and searched for my 6100 driver.... it's now installed and i can't change it back to "Smart phone" (cuz when i remove and connect again with my 6100, it installs itself again--the windows know where to autometically find the driver)
just another thing that i did when trying to get the app installer to work.... just leaving it to u guys, maybe it's part of the problem
(also to warn pple not to install the 6100 driver if it says "Smart phone" like what used to be in mine...)

I am not sure if this helps or not -- but when I borrowed my friend's laptop (for IRDA connection) for use with my 6100, I had many problems at first also. Try as I may, it would NOT detect the phone. It saw SOME kind of IR device but not a 6100, and it would always fail when transferring apps.
And then somehow it just fixed itself when I moved the phone around a bit near the IR port .. it suddenly detected it properly and started transferring the apps. Since then, it's worked flawlessly. But it was weird because it wasn't a question of the phone being too far from the IR port or whatever... it REALLY didn't detect it at all for the first 30 min .. and then all of a sudden it did.
All i can suggest is you wiggle it around a bit and make sure you put the phone in ĎR-mode, and hope the computer detects the device.
