Super Size Me --Tracfone's new extras offer w/airtime purchase

Tracfone changed their buy airtime extras. Instead of the box on the right side of the order page they put it at the bottom of the next page.

It is now called Super Size your purchase. Is this McDonalds.

They only offer 3 options and they are different depending on what you choose on the order page.

I saw this since late July when I became a TF customer. Maybe they were testing it in a few markets? I didn't post about it because I thought that was normal.

How does DMFL play a part in this? I suppose the initial minutes are doubled but how about the addition units.

Example....I buy a 60 unit PIN for $20 then choose the 60 units for an additional $10. With DMFL my guess is I'd wind up with 180 units for $30. Or does the additional 60 double as well? Any way you look at it it still comes out to over .10 CPM. Will bonus codes still work?

Bonus codes still work (with the standard airtime), but I don't remember if the additional minutes double if you have DMFL. If you feel like digging through post, I know that some have selected additional minutes and posted their results over at Fatwallet . If you are going to look work your way backwards.

edit: apparently they don't double according to this post unless the person got 30 bonus minutes instead of 60

Me too, I opted for the 30 extra minutes on a 60 minute card on a DMFL phone for a total cost of $26.68 and a result of:

    Minutes Added
    90 - Minutes
    120 - Bonus Minutes
    210 - Total Minutes
    Service Days
    90 - Days
    90 - Total Days

Other than the additional 400 min for $25 on the one year card, the rest of these aren't impressive. You could achieve the same price per minute just by buying the appropriate airtime card and you'd get service days to go along with it.

Looking at how the rest of them are priced, I wonder if the $25 for 400 minutes is a mistake. If you could buy multiple sets of the $25 for 400 using the same airtime card, that would be nice.

Today is the first time I saw it and I have been to that page a lot in the last week. Before they had a box on the right side on the same page where you choose your airtime purchase.

All paid for minutes are suppose to double. Even the discounted minutes paid for in the value plans double.

This is at the bottom of the page where the dmfl extra for $39.99 is offered.
*The Double Minute benefit does not apply to minutes that have not been purchased, such as bonus minutes provided with a special TracFone promotional code or bonus minutes automatically added to the TracFone. The 800 minutes included with the One Year + Double Minute card will not double. The Double Minute benefit may only be added once, only applies to one TracFone cell phone and may not be transferred to another TracFone.

Yea, if you could choose a quantity of the extra 400 minute blocks that would be great.

$50 for a year of service makes the VA hospital W175 deal (14 months of service on a $10 phone) look like a steal.

Anyone know if the Supersize option is available if you use an actual physical card?

This is unsurprising. It seems that with all of Tracfone's new or featured deals, there's a way to do it cheaper.

I didn't know it at the time I posted, but these minutes double. If you need minutes more than you need days, this could be a way to go.

when I try, the only super size i am offered is either 365 days $50, 60 min for $10, or 30 min for $5.

that's not very super. I sure hope they at least double those minutes since I'm DMFL.

Your right, that isn't even medium size.
But that is the only extras they offer when purchasing a 60 minute card.
