@Rapidstar!
I'd like to thank you for posting these pictures!
I finally got a chance to change my housing - acquired from CNN.com - and in a moment of panic didn't know how to take off the bottom silver-plastic "chin" of my E71-2. In the panic I think I weakened my dark grey plastic chin and a tiny piece chipped off

.
But your pictures DID help me from destroying it!
For those going to do this 2 notes of caution:
1> do NOT use any metal pieces to lift any part of the housing off.
2> Those trying to fix the slight flex of your keypad ... you must be VERY careful in lifting OFF the screen
There, the metal tags/guides can be depressed just in front of the battery release - the guides are recessed into the plastic shell of the housing. Once the sides are lifted then slide the metal shell (screen/keypad as one piece) UP towards the power button. do NOT lift towards you as you'll bend the latch.
Now fitting back your keypad ....
Those guides I mentioned earlier to release this top piece from body of the E71 ... if you look REALLY close BEFORE you remove your keypad from the original housing; you'll notice 2 small red-painted sections. They're more like tiny latches for the keypad. The keypad on each side has 4 corresponding tongs that fit into these. IF you forget to put the keypad the same way into the new metal shell, then the keypad will slightly be off-center or higher up on one side or give you that loose keypad again!
Rapidstar, I had to borrow 2 of your pictures to isolate what I was refering to in this thread only. I hope you do NOT mind.
All in all this worked perfectly for me; but that chipped piece of the bottom right chin of my precious E71-2 ... makes me feel the Do-it-yourself housing swap is not worth it.
