At no time did my front cover ever feel like it was stuck when I was removing or re-installing. I changed out the housing in less than 30 minutes.

Do a search for the E71 service manual 1&2. It has all the information you need.

Question. Is the lens cover part of A cover assembly or is a separate part? I see here it is listed as a separate part, but I only see it listed for the white steel.

The lens is included when you buy a new front housing aka faceplate.

To seperate the middle housing from the phone guts takes a little prying. Once all the screws are out, there isn't really anything else anchoring the motherboard. I just started slowly coaxing it out of the middle shell. Keep everything around once you've seperated it, it's the best guide for what goes where.

    GT_R,
I take some of that back. There were 2 other screws now that I think about it. Once they came out, the slight coaxing can begin..
    Sorry

Anyone know where to get just the faceplate for cheap? This place has it, but it's $39.99 and it includes the battery cover which I do not need.

I got my parts from mytrendyphone.com. Everything is original. The prices are based in pounds so I don't know what it costs as of today. I'm in the Chicago area and it took one week to ship. I highly recommend them.

The selection at mytrendyphone.com is quite limited. cnn.cn has more than twice the selection of parts and tools.

I agree about the site, it could use work. But I'll still tell you that regardless of the above comments about "choices", you asked about a specific piece, not how many different pieces you could find or how many different toolkits they had in stock. I found exactly the pieces I needed, ordered them, they shipped out immediately, I received them quickly (considering where they came from), and were exactly what I expected. So if that kind of service means anything to you, I would use them. If you want to find every other part, you may have to look around. Some of the parts at cnn.cn don't even have the correct picture. I will definitely use mytrendyphone again.

I think my shipping from CNN.CN was $5 and 7-10 business days. Or $19.99 and 3-5 business days. I can wait the extra week or so.
