Um, RSD general 4.9.8 crashes every time I try to back up all the provisinals. Is it because the phone I'm using is different from the one used in mark's guide?

I've got RSD General 5.1.6 or so and it seems to work pretty amazingly with whatever I can throw at it.
    Maybe try a newer-than-4.9.8 version?

5.1.8 is the latest release; can't tell you where to get it. Do you have IE 7 installed? As mentioned at the top of the V9m Flash Guide, RSD General may have issues with IE 7.

Could someone post a link to this monster? I can't find it anywhere.

I got a replacement Z6tv (my died) and I can't get the any flashes to take except the ALT_Z6M_02.0D.0BP Monster.

I'm particularly worried that the VZW Monster fails before it even gets to 1% and states the following "Failed flashing process. Phone[0000]: Error flashing subscriber unit. Device API Error: 0xE0020000 Command: BIN (0xE0323000)" as do all the other flashes that fail.

I'm guessing it's bootloader incompatibility but don't really know what to try next other than to try to get my hands on other Monster files. I've tried VZW, DST, Cricket, and Meto PCS monsters all with the same error. Only monster I know of that I haven't found is the Pelephone.

Sorry Martian21, haven't been keeping up with HoFo forums lately. Here's the link to the Pelephone Z6m flash; it's been up on m-f for quite awhile. Let me know if you get it working again!

*btw this can be used only as an intermediate flash as far as I know. This f/w won't allow loading of the service programming with QPST. Also tried RSD General to load service programming files with no luck.
Too bad as it has a couple of unique features like date banner located in the bottom left corner, separate from main banner. Can't achieve that with a skin editor.

As far as only being able to get the Alltel 02.0D.0BP monster on the phone, that is my monster of preference for the Z6m. Currently have mine on the Alltel 02.0D.0DP upgrade, but don't use it much anymore.

**I've gotten that error message before in RSD Lite and have recovered from it so don't worry, it should be recoverable.

What i did to do a Z6TV was just put the 01.31.00R firmware on it and then flashed the cricket Z6M firmware on it and it worked great. I've done about 6 of em like that never had a problem.

Glad to hear your method works well
It's been my experience that the first flash away from vzw f/w will succeed with any flash, while any monster flash after that requires loading the vzw bootloader.

Ok so now im having trouble

so i got a z6tv that i suppose has been flashed a couple of times. It was on cricket z6m monster and it just stopped working when they were taking video and switched to the M splash so now i have tried the 1% method and it says it pass but just starts up in bootload n stays i have tried everything and the only way it will work is with the VRZ_Z6TV_01.16.0CP_PRImm82931_MONSTER_04.shx wont take any other monster im trying to get the cricket one on it. been at it for two days and nothing so i figured if i can just load the prl and load all the settings with rsd generals 5.1.8 i would like to get the files of someone if anyone can provide me the settings to upload with rsd 5.1.8 any help would be great

From a fresh, successful vzw .16 monster flash, begin the .16 monster again, unplugging at 1%.
Close RSD Lite, pull the battery, put it back in, and manually place in bootloader by pressing and holding * and # keys while pressing the power on/off key.
Now flash the cKt monster. More than likely, it will pass in RSD Lite, but display only the blue bootloader screen still.
Now flash with the Alltel V9m 02.0C.18P Upgrade file. Once finished, it should boot into cKt just fine. If not, you may have to do the intermediate flash to the Pelephone monster first, as outlined above.
Once you've got it back on cKt f/w, I'd recommend doing all your qpst, rsd, etc. backups per Mark V's flash guide & flashing to a different monster like Alltel Z6m 02.0D.0BP, which is alot more stable than the cKt flash.

    Glad to hear it

Did you have to use the Pelephone Z6m monster and/or the Alltel V9m upgrade?
As i mentioned, once it's activated again on cKt and you've made sure all voice & data works, i'd recommend doing your backups and flashing to a more stable f/w. The 01.2B.2x firmwares tend to be very unstable on the Z6tv.

    *EDIT*
I just remembered, there is a cKt 02.0D.30P upgrade file that you could use on top of a stable monster like the Alltel 02.0D.0BP Monster that should be very stable and then you'd have most of the cKt settings automatically...

Obviously I haven't been keeping up with anything here either, that is, until my phone (DST + Alltel Update circa July '08) crapped out on me Saturday evening after sending a picture message. Screen went blank, once booted the screen would be black if the slider was open, grey if the slider was closed.

I started working on reflashing everything. Had success on the Verizon monster, went to the DST Monster, then did the Alltell update, stuck at the blue screen. Did a few more things after rereading the more recent posts here, decided to go with the Alltel Monster + DST Upgrade.

Long story short, after doing some alltel file (can't remember whether it was the V9M monster or the Z6M upgrade) RSD indicated that at 100% my phone failed the flash with the screen now blinking between white and blank.

The phone stopped being recognized by RSD after that, it's not being picked up by windows, and when I launch QPST all of the Ports are stated as being "Not Available" with a small red line drawing across the icon.

So, at this point in time i need to get my phone recognized by windows, then I'm going to start over following V3~157's route to the Alltel Monster + DST upgrade. Do you guys have any idea where to start on getting my phone recognized by the computer?
