Just to clarify this for everyone:
Ziphone, and iliberty+ are only made for iphones running 1.1.4 and lower firmware.
Winpwn, pwnage tool, and quickpwn are only for iphones running 2.0 and higher firmwares.
I feel this should be clarified because there are so many people making threads about how they are on a 2.0 firmware and used ziphone to jailbreak/unlock their and the phone end up bricking the phones. Programs like ziphone and iliberty+ have never been updated eversince the release of the 2.0 firmware and i feel everyone should know this before they decide to jailbreak and or unlock their iphones.

Android Sucks, ios is better
Also, if you are jailbroken and are on at&t and want to update to 2.1, then in itunes, hit restore in itunes, not update before you end up with the white spinning ring of death.
How can I restore from 2.2 to 2.1? I just made the mistake up upgrading and now I'm stuck on the ACTIVATION screen... can't find a restore from here!!!!
Put the phone into recovery mode using ziphone or iliberty+ and then once itunes detects the phone in recovery mode hit shift and restore and select the 2.1 software file and it will work, they already released the jailbreak and unlock for the 2.2 software
First thing is you go to iphone-hacks.com and download the latest version of quickpwn. Then, in itunes restore your phone to 2.2 but make sure you uninstall things like the five icon dock or delete anything jailbroken just to be on the safe side. When the restore is done, open up quickpwn and follow the on screen guides and follow the steps to jailbreak/unlock the phone
@darthvan, The five icon dock is a mod for jailbroken 2.0+ iphones that allows you to add a fifth icon to the dock where the phone, mail, safari, and ipod icons are.
@nastrodamous, you can use the latest version of itunes, no specific one is needed
@Real, In itunes restore the ipod to 2.1 or 2.2 but you need to download the firmware file unless you are going to pay 10 bucks for the firmware. Once you have the firmware downloaded, in itunes hold shift and hit restore and select the ipsw and let itunes do its thing and then when its done open quickpwn up and follow the steps to jailbreak/unlock
@Pryncearif, thanks for your help. I downloaded Quickpwn 2.2. Updated my firmware via iTunes to 2.2 which locked the phone, then pwned it with Quickpwn. it was so easy, thanks again.
Okay, just looking for some clarification. I have a jailbroken & unlocked 1G running 2.0.2. If I want to upgrade to 2.2, I just download the 2.2 firmware, restore in iTunes w/ the shift key, the quickpwn the phone again, just as I did originally to unlock it?
Thanks Prync i successfully jailbroke 2.2 1stgen ipod touch. there is one thing that kept happening to me when i use itunes or quickpwn2.2 my system would always randomly crash luckily i jailbroke it before it crashed again. i am running vista 64 bit has this happened to anyone else?
