other than viewing these settings is there anything you can change in these menus? I would love to be able to change the LCD brightness. Is there a way to change it in these menus?

PS. not to be a stickler, it's really hard to understand what most of these instructions do because of the spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. Not trying to sound like a jerk, I'm just having a hard time understanding what some of the instructions are saying.

spelling mistakes and grammatical errors? you should go complain whoever add it in the phone.

this is not a instructions i write down exactly what showing on the phone when you type in ##7378423, and i only go in Main LCD Brightness, Sub LCD Brightness which is nothing special but one bar that you can not change.

there is hope, plug the phone in to see if it stops rebooting, it does great, you can access the file system and hopefully someone can point out what file has that setting so you can revert it back or maybe someone can provide you a back up.

if it keeps rebooting, try letting the battery drain out then plug it in to pc. this setting might even be in NV Edit so you can change it back

a verizon full reflash will work. NV edit is a function in the LG Download program. it allows you to edit NV items, which the setting you edited may have been.

It's likely the setting you changed is stored in either filedb or in the nv items

1.) You will need two programs:
    a.) Bitpim & b.) Hex editor
Example to get a basic hex editor search in Google for: XVI32
Download and install your new Hex Editor program
2.) Open up Bitpim and view File system find folder “ERI”
3.) Save the eri.bin some place on your pc
    4.) Open Your Hex editor
5.) On the left hand side you will see numbers on your right you will see letters
Change the letters Verizon wireless to anything you would like it to say example My Wireless
7.) Save or overwrite new eri.bin to phone using bitpim
8.) Reset the Phone and enjoy your new ERI Banner
Thanks for the ERI banner info SKY!

I haven't tried it yet (too chicken... just got my phone). One thing I did notice is that the character strings in the eri.bin file are Pascal type, so if you do edit them and they're a different length than the original, you'll have to change the length byte as well.

Strings shorter or of equal length to the original should be OK, but I wouldn't add any that are *longer* than the original or you may be asking for trouble!!

    Cheers!!!

my question of the moment is about the 'shortcut bin' on the touch screen.... is there anything within service mode or menus that will allow me to relocate the icon to one of the other sides...???

    from the dail pad press:

    axil#*#
    2945#*#

This brings up a menu ELT
where you can do testing functions
    try it out

    Peace ~
