I agree with the battery sentiment, this thing has amazing battery life, though i did find one exception, using the GPS seems to murder the battery. I wouldnt have thought it would use that much more juice than say running bluetooth or the wifi radio but it seems to sap the phone a lot quicker than anything else. Outside of that though this things battery life murders the Tilt I had briefly and my BJ1 though it too had an ailing battery, when new the extended battery wasn't too far behind the epix, but i still think overall the epix is better unless you're running several of the radios etc.

same here... great battery life. GPS is truly a battery-hog! that's been my experience with all GPS equipped WinMo devices. what i really like is that i can use my old BJ1's extended battery in the Epix as well - i have plenty of power to go!

I got over 4 1/2 hours of battery life running GPSed (GPS Track Recording) while listening to music in media player on my s9 Bluetooth headphones. Put unit in standby while riding my bike.

That knocked it from 100% to 40% where it started complaining.
Anyone got an idea how to lower the complaint threshold?

Back on the subject of s2u2. I saw it mentioned (I think by Player) that the alarm would get "confused" with s2u2 when it goes off.
When my alarm goes off (from standby mode), it will ring once but as soon as the s2u2 screen pops up, it will stop. So essentially, all I'm getting is one beep.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

One more thing I'm struggling while using FTouchSL. When I touch the screen to "flick", many times it will launch or select whatever my finger is over. Say I'm attempting to flick through contacts, instead of scrolling, the contact I touch will open up.
Is there a setting I'm missing with FTouchSL or screen setup?

    Thanks again!

Change the Timeout value in the FTouchSL settings. This just sets how long the app will wait before it let's your movements "pass through" instead of registering as a gesture. I have mine set really high, because FTSL is actually pretty good about detecting "single presses" and letting those pass through directly.

The longer the timeout, however, the more important it becomes to add any finger friendly apps (resco, s2u2, etc) to the exceptions list so you don't have to hold down your finger before making any movements.

Just play around with that setting until you find a value that works for you!

Also the Music tab works if you install the AudioManager.cab file that is located in the latest Update19 files.

Here is a complete list of items I use to get Manilla2D working pretty damn well: http://www.sendspace.com/file/nwrupa

In there is Manilla, Weather Fix, Audio Manager, Google Maps, and Opera.

That is more then enough to make the homescreen work pretty well. I did not include the CommManager install to make some of the Settings functions work properly... because the CommManger doesn't scale properly to our 320x320 screen resolution, plus it doesn't work very well since it was designed to operate different hardware.

Besides you can always download Manilla 2D Configurator... which is a neat little app that allows you to config your homescreen on the fly... and lets you choose which tabs are visible or hidden.

I typically hide the Music, Internet, and Settings tabs since I don't really use them. The Internet tab is pretty... but I have Opera mapped to a hard key... Music is personal preference.
    HELP!

I am about to pull my hair out, i have d/l the files and followed instructions to a T, The resolution is still messed up. The height is a little to much and the width is to small. What am i missing here?

    Post Registry Hacks?

I've been roaming around the registry in my Epix and I've found a few interesting items that I'd like to investigate, but this is my first WM device and I figured I'd ask around here to see if any of these sound familiar first.

I'll just start out with the first thing that caught my eye and people can build from there...

    Code:
    HKLM\System\State\Samsung\Mouse
has a couple of nifty items I don't believe there are other ways to currently set, such as ClearCursorTime (how long without mouse input to go before hiding the pointer) and Speed, in case the "slow or slightly faster" system settings don't fit just right, but I'm interested in what Shutter and Squal do - could these increase the mouse polling/reporting rates, or impart some crude smoothing/acceleration?

Which Alarm program are you using? Player and I are both having good luck using the Alarm application in the Organizer folder.

I'm pretty sure I tried both of them but I'll make sure.

I just tried the organizer alarm with the same result. I'm sure I'm missing something...

Well, by the way you are wording it, it sounds like S2U2 isnt already running before the phone is put into Standby - correct? Try starting S2U2 first, get the phone in Standby, and then allow the alarm to go off.

Even when you go to Standby BEFORE S2U2 is launched?

I used the extended battery with my standard blackjack. The Epix DOES get awesome battery life. I think the Epix has the second biggest battery in a phone.
