Yea I found a thread that that showed the Manilla on an i780. I read through all the pages and updated the Yellow theme to work REALLY well. I'm going to zip up the whole package and also edit the background pictures for some color variation.
For those of you who can't get it to work... maybe I installed something prior that was required. Here are several items I installed BEFORE doing the final install. http://miiwiichat.com/upload/path/PriorUpdates.zip
I downloaded Update 15 first and installed ONLY the Manilla specific cab files in the Required folder. Then I found and installed the NON HTC Patch. That got it working... but the theme was off. I tried Update 16 and got the same results. Then I downloaded Update 19 and the theme was still not right.
There they had the Yellow Theme set that worked with the i780. I downloaded it, tweaked the XML file and graphical changes... then uploaded here. I later made a Blue Version.
All you do is copy the picture files over to the Windows Directory.
Then I went to Start >> Settings >> Today.
-Select Diamond from the Appearance Tab (from file above) for Flat Black Bars or you can use your own color theme.
-Select TouchFlo from the Items Tab, and click Ok.
I only installed this once and I had to piece files from all over the place and manually do some tweaking to make it work. I've uploaded everything I have with the links to the files I've downloaded. I've put the puzzle together and made a new Theme. Try looking in the Update files to see if anything will make it click. I don't remember if I did the NON HTC UPDATE before or after update 19... but I know I did the 19 update last.
To test: Install Update 15. Test. Install NON HTC UPDATE. Test. Install Update 16. Test. Install NON HTC UPDATE. Test. Install Update 19. Test. Install NON HTC UPDATE.
It is working great on my Epix. So the files are there.
OK player911, I tried it again and now I get the option to check the touchflo box which I did and then I get a message on the homescreen to tap here to launch Touchflo. I tap and it says that it is launching but never does and reverts back to the tap here message. I'm closer but need any suggestions that anyone can offer. Thanks to everyone for all the work being done on this phone. This is an excellent forum.
Can you post a few screen shots of the blue theme?
Thanks to Cortez.i for your help!!
Mine has the flat black bars on top and bottom, not gradient... and uses THAT theme... I just took the graphic files and adjusted the HUE so they were all blue. It is a very dark blue... just enough to put in some highlights. It is very easy to change the color of the pics also. I just used Adobe Firefox adjusted Hue to 150 for each graphic file, and over wrote the existing files in the Windows Folder.
It wouldn't be hard for someone to take the existing graphic files and make their own. Most of the graphic files were reused, or background images.
OK, after several uninstall and re-installs, I have got touchflo working with the yellow theme. The blue theme would only give me 240x320 screen but yellow is filling what looks to be 95% of the screen which is fine for me. Thanks again player911 for the posts and work to get this going for us. The touchflo interface is way better than anything that came on the phone.
Did you download the Theme files off my website? Because the yellow and blue theme from xda-dev's site are very buggy. Their blue theme was 240x320 and the yellow theme had lots of bugs and displacements. The 2 themes I have hosted on my site were heavily customized to work with the Epix 320x320 screen. Actually the yellow and blue theme are the same exact theme except I scaled the HUE to make one blue.
Those themes work very well. The only flaw is that some of the links point to non-existent programs, such as "Launch Internet" points to Opera... and the "Configuration" points to a HTC config tool.
All of the available programs are available to download in the UPDATES packages.
I will probably edit the theme files so that they point to Internet Explorer or SkyFire. Normally it just points to a link from the start menu. Maybe I can point the theme to a generic link file like "internet.lnk" so that all one would have to do is rename their favorite internet browser to simply "internet.lnk" (ex. "Opera.lnk" >> "Internet.lnk")
That way it would work for everyone.
And I also found that you CAN change the Homescreen desktop image from the Settings tab... which only changes the "Home" tab...
This morning I woke up to Rain... and when I checked the Weather tab, I was amused to see the Weather animations for rain. It had water droplets sprinkle in... then a windshield wiper came in and cleaned it up. Pretty neat stuff.
Yeah I downloaded them from your links. I think the blue would probably work if I tried it again. I installed one of the prior updates that you posted and then tried the yellow theme and it worked. Since I got it working finally I was hesitant to try anything else but will probably try the blue again when I get bored. Does anyone know a way to get a lock phone icon under the programs portion? I hate being a pocket dialer and really would like to have a quick way to lock the phone. Otherwise, I might go back to one of the default themes to get this functionality.
Can't you just hold down the Red END key to lock the phone?
Anyway I was messing with RealVGA and screwed up my Phone app. I also screwed up my ability to input digits on the homescreen somewhere along the way as well.
So I will try to make good notes when I get Manilla2D setup work working.
Has anyone had any luck sync'ing their notes from Outlook? My option is greyed out.
I sync with an Exchange server (mail, contacts, calendar, and tasks), and have another to sync with my PC, (NOTES, files, and favorites), but Notes is not available. The PC is using a different Exchange server too. It used to work and it seems that 6.1 may have caused this problem.
I have deleted and re-established the partnerships, but it did not resolved the issue.
