I just tried it again (I use the Organizer Alarm most mornings to wake up), and it still works.
I set the Organizer Alarm to go off after a couple of minutes, launched S2U2, then put the phone on standby. The phone is activated (lights up) and first shows a glimpse of the S2U2 screen, then the alarm window shows up at the bottom of the screen (on TOP of the S2U2 screen), the alarm begins to sound, and displays the Dismiss/Snooze buttons above the softkeys. The alarm played the full "Cool Breeze" song twice before 'giving up' i suppose.
I'm still waiting to see if the Alarm will re-start after a certain amount of time (would be handy to know). Edit: The Alarm DOES try again. I think based on the Snooze time I specified (3 mins for mine).
I don't want you to give up on S2U2 or the Organizer Alarm! I'll post my complete S2U2 settings for you.
My S2U2 Settings (that work perfectly with Organizer Alarm)
Advanced:
Don't Suspend Power - OFF
Safe Mode - ON
Display Mode - DirectDraw
SMS Patch for Korean devices - OFF
Don't double check Backlight - OFF
Don't use KeyBoard Hook - ON
Check Exceptional EXEs run.. - ON
On wake up, delay (ms).. - OFF
Delay (ms) the Blank Screen on Talk - 300
WAY TO GO, SFLEURIET!
It works! I think the settings that I underlined above are the key to making it work. I had the default settings that had the Exceptional EXEs to run set to ON like it should, but the 500ms delay on wake up is about the same amount of time the alarm would quit on before.
Well cool. Very nice. I never had a problem with the Organizer alarm. I'm quite fond of that alarm, which is missing entirely from the Fuze. I loaded up a version I have, and even though it runs, it won't work.
The Time & Alarms SETTINGs menu app... doesn't seem to work properly with SNOOZE. I set the SNOOZE to 10 minutes yet it never goes off again. I have to setup 3 separate alarms in 10 minute increments just to have a working solution.

Awesome. That makes it worth the time it took to type all that up!

Thanks a lot! I think the key is the Delay Setting. I didn't realize there was an OFF setting (I've had it as low as 100ms to try and place nice with Mobile Shell), but that seemed to do the trick!
SPB Time works as well, so I guess I have 2 alarms to choose from now!!!
Too Bad that no matter what the alarm time is set though, S2SU shows 12:00AM (at least on mine, and I've seen a few other posts) -- but that is a minor detail.
I've noticed the screen turning on. Which is why I started using S2U2. Without S2U2... I found the phone randomly start vibrating in my pocket, which was caused by my thigh hitting the touchscreen and launching programs.
I set S2U2 to turn the screen off after 5 seconds. So if the screen backlight DOES come on... S2U2 will shut it off if you don't unlock it. Seems to work well.
I've also noticed some programs will randomly close. I also see this on the Fuze. Really annoying. It doesn't happen often so I just live with it.
Normally the program closes immediately after I launch it.
As far as the other programs, go to the VERY FIRST post and download the AppUnlock. That should bypass the security popups for Photo Contacts Pro.
I haven't used AIM. Does it close automatically... or just closes randomly? It might be a buggy software causing a memory leak... forcing the phone to shut down unnecessary apps. Or it could be a simple but. Try finding a different version and check that out.
I know the Keyboard backlight is adjustable in START >> SETTINGS. Somewhere in there you can turn it off, on, adjust how long it stays on, and between what times should it be off or on (like only come on at night). There is no light sensor, so it isn't automatic. Perhaps something got changed in there. Registry Edits could also affect this or anything that affects the way the phone alerts you.
Ywwa, as far as AIM goes, i went back to the full version as opposed to the beta and no issues thus far.
Im going to try the AppUnlock now, see how it goes..
The weird thing about my screen turning on is it does it just sitting on my desk at work or home, nothing tapping it everything locked in standby mode. It will just randomly turn on.

I avoid AIM, but Yahoo's part of the Oz IM app works ok. For a great many apps, you may still need to app unlock the phone to get them to install--That may help. As for the KB backlight, by default the backlight is on a scheduled timer where it will only kick on during evening hours. (ex: it's 4:30ish now and when I type on it, it stays off.) This feature can be accessed under Settings->System->Backlight on the Keyboard tab.
Thanks, i tried for a good while with all the settings and nothing, i dont know what did it or what i changed but none of the keyboard settings were getting it to work. luckily i had just got the phone and didnt lose much as far as apps with the reset. Thanks for your replies guys.
errr... one more thing regarding the keyboard backlight..
anyway to get it to light up when i hit one of the hard keys or optical mouse.. i usually need the keyboard when i hit one of those buttons and in a dark room or in the car at night its annoying to have to hit any key to get it to light up first then backspace.
OK player911, can you tell me how you got skyfire to work? I tried to install the touchscreen and non-touchscreen version and both came up with a message that said that they would not work with this phone. Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.
I installed skyfire just normally. No problems here at all. There's nothing special about it.
What causes the phone to come on I think is the data connections, like getting a text message.
Some have reported that the phone turns on when going back and forth from 3G to EDGE.

I don't know about the keyboard backlight. I don't think the phone acknowledges the first keypress. Else you could unassign the Calendar key so it won't launch anything when you press it. All phones are this way though.

ao AIM keeps dissapearing.. it doesnt shut down it just kind of dissapears off the screen then wont pop up from the start or task manager.. screw it ill use tghe built in on..
as far as it turning on and off
S2u2 doesnt stop it from turning sleeping and wakin randomly. but it does put it back to sleep faster
S2U2 doesnt howevery take priority over those annying alerts, theyt pup up and slide takes a back seat and the phone can be worked in a pocket or w/e without the slide unlock..
