Anyhow, the Epix can do tons of stuff and I like the touch and wifi and the gps and all that other stuff. I like being able to install what I want. Heck, I have even made my own apps for it.

But the LG Incite is the same WinMoPro 6.1, but with a bigger screen (240x400) and without all those tiny buttons. And since it is WinMoPro just like the Epix, I assume I could install all the same applications.

On the Epix, I almost always use the screen and rarely use the keyboard. I do use the mouse, which I know is missing on the Incite.

Anyhow, tell me why I want to keep the Epix.
Actually not a dumb question, because I am in the same boat. I also looked at the Fuze, but the thickness and the price tag were both deal-killers.

I have two concerns with the Incite -- (1) I actually use my keyboard quite frequently for replying to emails, and I hate onscreen keyboards -- that was a major reason I don't care for the iPhone -- esp with "big" fingers; and (2) that silver color on the Incite for some reason makes it look cheap. I know that isn't a big thing, but for some reason it looks like LG just wasted real-estate and could have made the screen a bit bigger....

In terms of the Incite, it does have a bigger screen than the Epix, and it does look thinner.

However, in the end Samsung has been putting out smartphones for a while, and even though the Epix isn't perfect, I have always been fond of Samsung quality. LG is relatively new to the smartphone side of the house, so they may have some growing pains to go through that I may not want to be part of....

    Just my $0.02

I haven't done any registry modifications other than to app unlock the phone, so I am assuming this is another bug with the phone. Anyone have any ideas? It seems like when the volume is toggled to silent, the registry values are getting stuck there. Perhaps this is related to the increasing ring tone problem, the email sound notification problem, and other sound issues going on.
I have had some weird issues with this. Especially when I connect with my headset.

I used AEButton Plus to set the silent button to turn on vibe mode. So what I have been trying to is just use that to turn the volume on and off and try to not touch the volume key at all.

You're not alone. I'm a couple days before my 30 days is up. I'm really happy with the Epix but I want to consider all options while I can. It's crazy that 30 days ago the Epix was my only choice now it's the Fuze (too expensive), Bold (nice but not what I want), Eternity (other than lack of WIFI, exactly what I wanted but I'm learning and liking Winmo), and now the Incite.

What really bothers me with the Incite is the lack of information and no input from other users (if there are any) and I don't want to be a guinea pig. With the Epix, I know what I have - Awsome reception, awsome battery, best of best of both worlds in touch screen and keys, and a whole lot of knowlegeable users sharing their input. Things I don't know if the Incite can deliver on.

These are exactly my concerns. I think the things we have used for the EPIX (app unlock, google earth w/gps, etc.) will work, but I don't know for sure.

The apparent lack of community is troubling.

Im with you guys as well.. About in the middle of my 30 day period.. anxiously awaiting some more info on the Incite or at least a product page on LGs site.. I'd like to see how the keyboard is represented.. I did read somewhere that there's also a stylus as well..

Though if Samsung can come out with a fix fairly quickly for all the bugs in the Epix that would probably make me happier with it..

I made the mistake of using the volume keys again today to turn up the volume to play a video. Sure enough, 4 hours later I have no sound!

I power cycled the phone and again it is back. This is just stupid. I may try and do a hard reset to see if that will correct itself.

Yeah you can do that. There are several sites that can walk you through various methods. For me:
1 - create a folder on your SD card where you want to store the cache.
2 - in Opera enter the address: Opera:config
3 - Near the bottom in the "General" tab change the Cache4 tab to the folder ou just made
4 - save the changes and you should be good to go.

    Good luck.

Hope someone can help me here. I have an epix I'm using on fido but can't seem to get internet (or wifi for that matter) working. I hacked the registry and changed the 1 to 0 to open up the internet settings and put the fido setting of internet .fido.ca in. The phone says it is connecting to fido and then gives the following message "the page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. Check the connection and try again later". Any suggestions?

    Well, see for yourself...

Incite looks good, but I want to have both keys and touch sometimes I find it useful to have both. The main differences I see are the resolution, the input style, and camera. Thing is, all I've seen are photos of the front side, I can't see how thick it is or what the back looks like. The color is not the prettiest either.

EDIT: So ok, the LG Incite does look good...better battery life, bigger screen, not as wide (a little thicker) and has all the same features...ugh decisions decisions..I'm still within that 30-day period too...

ANYWAY... I updated my theme again.

What do I need to do after downloading the theme.zip into my phone storage card? Please give detail steps. Thanks.

Man i reaaaaaaally dunno about the incite... a few things that pretty much poo poo all over it for me:

    Battery:
1300 mAh (says 1030 mAh on GSMArena) vs the Epix 1800 mAh. Of course maybe the incite is a more efficient phone... but that beefy 1800 mAh battery gets me so crunk. Battery life on the epix is SWEET.

    Input:
"Requires a stylus more often than HTC's TouchFLO 3D phones, yet there's no stylus silo so you've got to hang it from the included tiny lanyard." WOOOOW. this is reason enough not to get it. With the Epix... it's nice to have the stylus when doing configs in a lot of menus... but you could easily just go with the optical mouse. There's no mouse on the incite AND you have to have your stylus dangling around dorkily from your phone? noooo thanks.

Also... no hardware QWERTY. I know some people need this and some don't... I'm one that definitely needs one.

    The Good:
The screen is 240x400... which is weird but kind of cool if you think about it. Apps will still look okay (PPC is built for 240x320 basically)... but have a lot more space on the bottom. The Epix runs at 240x240 (without RealVGA), so the bottom is chopped off. This means all old PPC apps will look great without hacks, AND you get more reading of emails/webpages/today screen.

Still ... I think I'll pass on this guy
