The Epix is my first Windows phone and yeah it locks up sometimes, but based on my experience with my Windows PC, I would be to not expect it to lock up at least every so often...
Beside this, I found another bug that my phone would display notification message on screen 'You have 1 missed call', 'you have new voicemail', 'you have new email', etc.. even if I had unchecked the "display message on screen" for these in the sound and notifications set up. Can someone confirm this? Thanks.
Can someone try this and let me know if your Epix behaves the same way? Thanks.
Hey I found this program through the Windows Mobile website, and downloaded the free version. It is a very nice Youtube search/player tool and offers a wide variety of podcasts and internet radios stations. Not sure if it has any downsides, but I haven't found any yet.
I unchecked the box for Missed Call on my Epix, called my phone, and a box DIDNT pop up.
I then checked the box back, repeated the steps, and the box DID pop up.
Perhaps something's wrong with my Epix as I have just hard resetted it and the 'Notification' would show up on screen for the missed call regardless of the 'Display message on screen' is checked or not.
The word "Notification" on the taskbar in the bottom will always be there... if you click it, the box will then pop up. With the box checked in the settings, the Notification box automatically pops up and is visible at the bottom of the screen. With the box unchecked in the settings, the Notification box remains hidden unless the button is pushed.
Thanks for the clarification. Is there a way/hack to get rid of the word 'Notification'? It is redundant since the top task bar indicates symbols of these missed call, text message, etc....
This is my first post on this forum. I have a samsung epix which I love except for the the volume control which is in the wrong spot. I am using slide to unlock to lock the phone. I also saw a post from Player 911 that ae buttons can be set to reconfigure the volume control. I tried the program and followed Player 911 settings BUT the program does not see to work. I installed the program to the device and NOT to the sd card. I am wondering if the program has a conflict with the slide to unlock application ?

Hmmm Slide2Unlock2 must first be activated by going into the S2U2 folder within the start menu. I was using version 1.33 (1.35 is the latest but reportedly has lots of issues).
But first you must set up the program using the... "setup" link. Once you save the settings you have to launch S2U2. This can be tricky. There should be a third link called "lock" or something. Going back and forth between launching "lock" and "S2U2" links... eventually it will kick you to the Slide2Unlock2 screen... which means your done.
It will continue to work even after a reset.
The only time you'll have to fight with it is when you go into the settings program (for some reason).
Just keep at it and you'll figure it out. Just make sure you go through the Settings program slowly so you only have to go in there once.

1.40 was released on the 29th of December I believe. Still some weirdness with setup occasionally, but beyond that its running pretty well on my Epix
I removed DataKeeper.lnk from \windows\startup and the app isn't running anymore and the music stopped pausing. The changes survive a reboot and I haven't noticed any ill effects yet.
Wish me luck!
any word on how this is going? i've noticed the same thing using tcpmp. any negative effects?
Anyone figure out how to get rid of the increasing ring volume even if I'm not setup to that feature? It seems like the first ring or so is always not as loud.

Im running S2U2 1.40 as well - Its been pretty good with the exception of a couple random lock-ups after my phone's gone into sleep mode. (I had to pull the battery and restart).
I wish there was a way to configure how the text is display (i dont like how my calendar events listed.)

My other minor quibble is when you have slide2answer enabled, it doesn't always seem to grab your caller ID properly, so you sometimes just get a phone number with no name
