I have the new Alu MB 2.0, and had the same problem with DFU on it. Had to you windows desktop to jailbreak. Quickpwn and iTunes were not able to see the phone in DFU. Could this be an issue of power ? The new hardware (USB ports) could be not giving enough power to the phone while in DFU mode ? Because if it was just iTunes, quickpwn should of went thru but it doesnt it just sits there....
You could be onto something. I think there is some issue with the power in the USB ports on the new MBs. I have a USB hardrive that I could connect to my MacBook Air w/o any problems. Now, when I connect it to my new MBP, it says that it's "over current" and it shuts down the USB port.
I knew it. You cannot jailbreak or unlock iPhones with the new Macbook Aluminum line. I tried everything, downgrading itunes, reinstall, fresh install etc. I finally had to run bootcamp and use windows. Works fine there.

download paralles 4.0 install windows xp sp3 go to filehippo.com in the search type in itunes 8.0 the u will get a list of itunes download the one thats right after version itunes 7 witch is the first version of itunes 8.0 then you will be able to use iphone in DFU mode n the new macbook and its work great i have unlock 3 iphone this why but dont no why it dont work in Mac osx i guess thy patch itunes or something.. os almost forgot u need to disable sharded files between parallels and mac...
